anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

I'd like to see the controller broke open to see if it can be rigged to be controlled via controller. I can create a flow map and use a vortech to replicate it right now, if I can control this with an arduino type platform could get a look from me.

When I get one I'll try it if its easy to open.
 
I am saving money to buy 2 MP40s for my 120g. If one of these WP40 would be good for my 120g (48x24x24inch), then I will get one without hesitation. I'm concerned about the pump blowing away all my sand. What do you guys think?

Keep posting reviews guys. I already bought one of the chinese LEDs (works great), so I'm having high expectations for the WP40 as well.

The vortechs offer too much bells and whistles for me. I don't need the wireless or the syncing vortech to vortech. I just want a pump that can get the job done without buying too many or big powerheads for my tank.
 
I'm going to crack this open as soon as I get it. If it has a 0-10v driver in it, I can connect it directly to my Apex to control the flow.

Feels like the old chinese thread again when they first came out. I was successful in modifying those with 0-10v drivers, maybe we can figure out something here too. If we do, it would put a lot of pressure on these companies to adjust their pricing (I'm looking at you Ecotech and Tunze). It's about time they had some competition.
 
Well, I have a variable output DC power converter on order. It shipped yesterday and should be here early next week (thanks for the link Simon). Do any of the electronics gurus here think that will work? I can see how reducing the voltage to the pump will slow it down, but will the electronics in the controller still work at say 18v instead of 24v? :blown:

Possibly, but the pump would be run at half power max if it did.
 
i do not think there is one . i believe you will not find this in the china pump for the time being


It is similar (so to speak ) as I can hear the pump ramping up and down .
This is the ELSE mode . It reminds of very low tone music . It's not annoying .

Ok I am taking a chance and ordered one. Keep us posted if anyone figures out how to run it through APEX. I have a 90 Gallon right now with (3) Hydor pumps and a wave maker. Still have a dead spot that is driving me nuts!
 
I've been waiting a long time for a budget controllable pump. This is awesome if they last at least as long as a Vortech Wet Side (same price even). If/once mods come around for Arduino/Apex/Reef Angel control, this will become a very nice option compared to a Tunze or Vortech, for Koralia level pricing.

I tried this with my Tunze power brick model 9932H since it has 12,15,18,20,22,24 sliders and it works fine . I don't think it's gonna harm anything .No it didn't blow up ..LOL
I get smaller waves W1 setting on 12 volts.All modes work fine. Just on a smaller scale . Not going to keep it this way .This was just a test .

Nice. $15 universal 24v 2.5A power brick mod confirmed already. $115 for a 3200gph pump with speed control and wave modes.

Great! So the link that Simon posted for the universal power supply will work? if not will you please post a link to one that will work? Id like to get one.
 
Any 24v universal power supply with switchable sliders that supplies ~2.5A at 24v should work. That link would work, and I bought one from a place called Inside Computer. Just waiting on the pumps themselves.
