anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Just ordered my WP-40 today! Still setting my tank up, but also ordered the variable power supply. Setting up a 65 first and then on to my 120... figure this will be good for both (also have a closed loop OM 4-way for the 120).

Can't wait to get some water in it to check this out!

I think when the wp25's come out, I'm going to pick up 2, then sell my MP40, this should give me about enough money to buy one of the new Evergrow LED's. My current China LED black boxes do the job, but I think the better spectrum would be nice. Name brand LED's and actual lenses would be nice too.

I should end up with better flow, better lighting, and a small profit out of the deal.

Got the stevesled v3.8 converter today. it looks like it may fit within the jebao controller, and I think I see how to fully hook it up.

Basically, it looks like the apex wires come in through the #1 input,
Desolder the VA wire and wire it to a PWM output.
V+ to 5V
V- to GND

In theory, this should work with giving the Jebao modes power, and giving the Apex control of the intensity. If it does work like this, holy crap what a great deal for an apex controlled pump... with wave modes!

Can you post some pictures of what you plan to do?

Did anyone find any info on the WP25s? If they do at least 2500 gph then two will be fine for my 150g. Otherwise I'll have to buy the WP40s anyway. I'm gettin' ansy!

Just had a thought, if you connect two to the apex, they can probably be synchronized as well. Crazy.

Okay call me dumb but will I need Steve's converter to get this hooked up via reef angel? Thanks.

Depends on which dimming version of the Reef Angel you have. If you have the 0-10v analog version, you need the converter. If you have the PWM version, you don't need a converter at all, and could hook directly to it. You would need to write your own code to get it running though, or borrow a Tunze code already written.

Okay cool. I do have the pwm version. Where will I solder a wire to the jebo controller. I already have some pwm pigtails for my reef angel. Thanks for the help.

I spoke with the company directly. The WP25 should be out the begining of April. They have protoypes but are still testing

^^ Same question.

I'm finally getting dry rock, live sand, and beginning my cycling by mid march. I think I'll hold off for the WP25. But the time my tank would need the extra flow internally, the WP25 should be out.

Since this runs on dc power, I'm certain that it would be possible to hook it up to a battery backup. Hopefully jebo comes out with something like the tunze safety connector.

Oh wow, I didn't even think of that. This could actually work with the Vortech Battery backup, or your own DIY battery backup too.

You wouldn't need a safety connector. You would just need a "Fused VorTech Battery Backup Cable" from Ecotech's site.

If you figure out how to do this, let me know. I'm going to get one if it's possible! I don't see the need to spend so much on expensive powerheads if this can do battery backup too. The only reason I've wanted an mp40 or tunze was because they can switch to a battery backup. I've had three power outages last summer.

Actually, that Tunze connector to a 12v 18a sealed lead acid battery would probably be best. It should function exactly like connecting to a Tunze pump would, and be cheaper than a Vortech BBU. Awesome!!!!!! I need to grab one of these and take a look.
