anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Thank you or the info! Disappointed this pump is so much smaller. I personally believe the market opportunity for 50g-100g is larger than in the "nano" space; maybe not # of tanks per se, but the cost difference between a good quality nano tunze and a Chinese pump isn't substantial enough for people to switch and take the chance.

Don't think it is and I think the deal with the suction cups and magnets are you get to choose whichever you prefer for the WP25

I can't see why anyone would choose suction cups over magnets. I remember seeing the picture you attached in one of the Chinese online stores about a month ago, not FS. I raised the same question about the dimension.

Also seems strange that the flow would be so small yet the pump so large... that's a big in tank size for the appropriate tank...

I find it very strange that the WP25 would be as big as the WP40, but then if you look at the website, they misspell so many words it's hard to believe they have anything right! :blown:

I can't imagine anybody wanting a pump that big in a small tank. I'm not going to draw any conclusions at this point. I'll wait until the pump is in the store and we can get confirmation they are the same size or they are different. It's obvious Jebao isn't the same kind of quality marketing company as EverGrow is with led lights! You still need to be careful when dealing with Chinese companys. :hammer:

If one already is operating an arduino, why bother with ra? Or vice versa?

RA runs on the Arduino platform, and the code is open sourced. So it should be easy to find the code written by the RA guys and copy it into my own codebase. Just saves me some time in re-programming - one of the joys of open source software!

Okay, so I'm still following along. I was also waiting for the WP-25 for my 105, but I guess I am going to go with WP-40 now. I've seen several methods discussed for controlling the voltage. What are most people using as of now? The LPF? The adjustable laptop supply? I would also love to be able to pick these up for $35/ea. Wouldn't that be nice?

After I get mine, ideally I want to build a dedicated controller for all of them. I'm very curious to know more about nettraptor's setup.

less than 40$ to control 15 jebao

nettraptor - Man I need to start tinkering with electronics again looks like something fun on the side. Which microchip are you using?

Well I thought my light sensor was working but I just noticed a wave in the tank. For some reason it is not working in complete darkness. If I turn on a dim light the sensor works but in total darkness it doesn't. That makes no damn sense. Anyone else having this issue?

Bright lights = Pump on
Dim lights = Pump off
Total Darkness = Pump on
Finger over sensor = Pump off.

arghhhhhhhhh
treetopflyn - I'm having the same issue. If I turn on my cell phone near the sensor in the dark it goes into night mode.

Just a shot in the dark (pun intended) but can the light sensor be inserted both ways, or does it only go in one orientation?

rrasco - Both ways it similar to how a capacitor looks. I will check if one leg is longer than the other tonight just to be sure.

Okay, so no polarity. Just wanted to toss that out as a possibility. FWIW, decoupling capacitors are (or can be) polarized.

Are all light resistors the same or some are better than other. I wonder if we can replace the stock light resistor with a better one.

I'm obviously not the only one that can do this, but if we can figure out an ideal method to control these, I don't mind laying out a PCB that we could use to replace the stock controller; and to accommodate multiple pumps.

i was just reading about these .. anyone tried them on a 180 yet ?? n how many did you need for it ...

Plenty of people have. If I recall, one WP-40 had no problem making a wave. There are some videos posted in the last page or two (depending on how many posts you have per page, I have 50).

thanx RR yea i guess i will go back that far .. read the 1st 12 pages n jumped to the end LOL ..

wings are not doing to bad this season .. atleast better then my team ..

I've got a WP40 on its way for my 75gal. I'm going to try running it full blast on the 'else' mode like I do my MP40. If I feel like it's too powerful I'll tone it down with an adjustable power supply. I don't forsee it being a problem though. I don't really keep any softies. I have a few LPS, but they are positioned in such a way that the rock blocks the full blast. I also converted to bare bottom, so I don't have a sand storm to worry about.

Ha, doing better than I expected them to be with this depleted lineup. Your team the Panthers or the Lightning? My AHL team is the Panther's affiliate, so I get to see some of their prospects come through the pipeline.
