anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

As indicated, here is a crappy video of the tank with the WP-40 in the back right corner.

Can you guys please revise it and let me know your advice if i should get another WP-40 for the left side to avoid sand blow as you can see at he center of the tank in the final moments of the video.....

Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise....

Since you are keeping mostly LPS, one WP40 probably is adequate. Are you running it in ELSE or Hi mode? You can also run in W1 mode to keep the sand from blowing. Also angling the pump up and more to the center of the tank to keep the current from bouncing off the front glass may help.

Thanks... I am running in Else mode and i am willing to go thru SPS also. The pump is around 5 inches from the top and it's not in the center side because i didn't like the look.

It is really in the back corner angled up and to the other corner. TO be honest i haven't tried Hi neither W1 because i like the flow of the pulsing else mode...

Maybe this pic will let you see the angle of the WP-40...

Correct. That's a 3/4 Sea Swirl... Excelent piece of equipment.... It helps a lot on the current flow motion. You can configure it to swing 45 or 90 degrees.

wcharon, what is that pump in the middle of your tank back wall that moves from left to right? Is it powered to do that?

Recieved mine also... Have to agree that it is super powerful and also big. Also running it in else mode ...

For those guys using 2 how you use them becuase mine is in the side and it reaches perfectlly the other side??? Also have anybody tried using them in the back corners rather than them in the sides???

Thanks for the input becuase still deciding if i am going to buy another one for the other side...

I have the MP40 on the side wall of a 6ft 125g on W1 and it gets great flow, circulation to kick up settlement and great coral movement. I defenitly dont need two.

Agree. Yesterday i tried the W1 mode with S1 and didn't have the sand blow. The dial knob was half way.

Seems that i am going to stick with one only and change settings betweek Else and W1 mode....

Thanks....

I'm working on a way to control max power trough a potentiometer, but its not finished yet.

Attached is a scheme(not technically designed), of the future controller(with the potentiometer already included, but the code its not adapted yet).

Circuito_Arduino_WP40_zps2106d3d8.png

The picture is also designed to use only one power suplly, but its not tested the(this last part).
The test was Arduino + Leds + Pushbuttons(and respective resistors), with 24V Power suply to the pump, and arduino connected to the computer. So you should always test if the signal coming from arduinos PWM and GND is 5V when PWM = Max(256), so you wont burn the pumps internal circuit.

As soon as i have the full circuit(one power supply and the potentiometer) done i'll post some aditions

All the best.

Have you been able to get the potentiometer to work?

Is there any internet store in the US that sells these? I would rather buy in the states and not have to wait 2 weeks for shipping, and I dont want Ebay, because I want a warranty. Has anyone used reefsupplycanada.com to purchase these units?

Got my Wp25. It is great. Kicking my tanks butt on else mode at the slowest setting. Only thing is that sensor is damn small. I could not find it. I either lost it not it was not there. If I am going to keep my controller under my tank is it even worth worrying about getting the sensor?

I think im going to order one of these also. For the price you cant beat it. Everything I have bin reading has bin good. Have not seen anything bad said about this product.

Been using mine for about a month now. It has been great and I am enjoying the flow on W1 mode in the lowest speed.

If I go with the highest constant flow it will reach across my 125.

Yup. I just got mine tonight (Wp25) . I have a 65 gallon. I put it on else mode and came home to a sand blasting mess. I'm now running W1 on the lowest speed, knob all the way to the right and it looks like a perfect wave. I'll see how my tank responds tomorrow and adjust.

A few questions before I pull the trigger on a wp40 tonight.
1. I can't seem to order the impeller replacment parts to help silence the pump. Are they a must have or is the pump reasonably quiet without them?
2. Do these pumps come with a magnet/ suction cup as the default or will I need to specify on what kind of mount I want?
3. And most importantly, I have a standard 120(4ft) I'm pretty set on the wp40. Can I dial this pump down enough with a dimmer to not blow everything to hell in my tank? It going to be a mixed reef with equal amounts of sps, Lps and softies.

1. You shouldn't need the spare parts. Only a few have had issues and they seem to get taken care of. I've had mine 5 months now and it had a bit of a hum for a week or two and now I have to put my ear on the magnet to hear it ramp up and down!

2. They come with pretty stout magnets. Unless you have really thick glass you'll be fine.

3. I have a wp40 in my 180g and I'm pulling it in favor of 2 wp25's instead. I don't know what controller comes with the new wp40 (if it has the 3 speed control or not). But a rheostat and/or an adjustable power converter wil help control the speed (I use the adj pwr convt at 18V and it works fine).

But I'm switching to 2 wp25's so I can have 1 at either end and put them both on timers and alternating ends with some overlap. Pump1 runs 4 hours, both pumps run 2 hours, P2 runs 4 hours, both pumps run 2 hours, P1 runs 4 hours and so on. It ends up being like tidal flow. The corals may not care. But I really like to mix up the flow in the tank to keep things stirred up. And I think the tidal flow idea is cool.
