anything cool in rocky point?

The good Lord played a cruel joke on me when I got a love for the sea but a stomach that couldn't handle it. I second the comment about a litle boat and lots of fish! Try the fishing - you won't be disappointed. I never got sick on the water there either. However, if someone reading this thread does get sea sick, here is the absolute answer: the scopolamine patch by prescription backed up by a bonine pill you can get over the counter. Just got back from San Diego riding the swells there for a full day of deep sea fishing and didn't feel anything. Believe me, I'd normally be blowing chow like nobody's business! Rocky Point is always fun and only 3 1/2 hours from my house. Have a good time.

ya i'm def. gonna go fishing lol. I keep hering how good it is and i keep wanting to go more and more lol.
and its only sposed to be about 3 and a half from my house too.

Check out Lobo Del Mar to go fishing. They are who I always go with. They are reasonable and really cool

how much do they charge per person?

something del mar is what my dad was lookin at i think...idk how many "del mars" they have (in san diego they had like 8 different del mar things lol.) but thats prolly the one.

I think I payed $55 bucks each with a minimum of three people for like 6 hours. There were two of us at first so I was going to pay the full $165 but at the last minute 2 more guys signed on. It was a blast.

And yes the fish I caught was awesome tatsing. I will post a couple pics when I get home.

As far as Brittle stars go I left the big ones alone (they were black) and caught a ton of the small ones

cool! did you keep any of the small ones? if you did, how did you go about bringing them home?

and i think i'm gonna go scuba diving...i would be the only one tho since its so expensive (dont have the equipment so i gotta rent it lol)..but i'm torn between wether i wanna dive or fish...or maybe i could compromise by taking a net down in the water lol.

i was looking on some site on where we're going, and they have a bunch of fish that i've seen in aquariums in their sea. There was a couple few wrasses, and there was a really cool lookin angel..forget what kind..and then there was a rather large list of triggers as well.

here is a pic of the big trigger fish I caught

Nice catch JP! That's a good sized trigger. I wish I wouldnt have forgotten my camera....these maroon and gold jawfish with black spots I was catching were huge (compared to jawfish we see in the aquarium trade). Their mouths opened up so big they could easily swallow a grapefruit.

wow thats a rather large trigger lol..compared to what we keep anyways. whats the thinng he's chowin down on? bait of some sort obviously, but what?

I've not been diving at Bird Island, but I did catch a 7' blue shark out there. Supposedly the sharks are attracted by all of the sea lions....just try not to look like a sea lion. :^)
