aquamaxx ConeS CO 1 skimmer review

Yep, no luck at Aquariumspecialty...

I talked to one shop today and they said they had no realistic expectation of when more will be stateside. I'm bummed.

I actually spoke with Mike at aquariumspecialty today and he said he was expecting a few more CO-1s next week. He went ahead and took my order. I really hope he is right and gets them in.

I certainly hope AS comes through on that for you. I received an e-mail from Larry at aquamaxx and he initially said they are expecting a state side shipment in 1 to 3 weeks. He then sent me another message after contacting the factory and revised the delivery wait to 5-6 weeks. Ouch!

Obviously they need to fine tune the assembly or import/export processes and speed things up-sucks waiting for sure!!!!

Ugh, that is pretty discouraging. I would imagine Aquamaxx themselves would know best...

Maybe I should give AS a call and see whats up.

There are probably a few of them floating around in Stock. Some of the pre orders always fall through because some hobbyists just decide they can't wait.

Fingers crossed for you! !!!!!!!!!

I have called everyone and no luck I was told 4 to 6 weeks I looked on eBay and Amazon I might have to give up and get the reef octopus.

I just talked to AS. They said they just heard it will be more like 3 weeks than next week and I am assuming that estimate is pretty optimistic. Your info was spot on Reeftivo.

If anyone hears of any CO-1s forsale please let me know. I am sick of having to blow into my skimmer...kinda defeats all the cool automated stuff my new Apex can do.

ellis. im in the same boat as you. I wanted the aquamaxx cone 1 . i think those bubble cones really mellow out the bubbles and create a perfect foam head. it also looks nice and clean, quiet, nice pu…plus the price is great. The guy at affordable aquatics is awesome, best price on the cone1 too, if he gets them in stock. He recommends the eshopps cone 120 as a similar performer. Obviously not as sleek and elegant but I've heard great things and it uses the same sicce pump with different # i found one used locally too from a guy who is breaking down tank. Id say if you can't wait for the aqumaxx, grab a eshopps cone or sea side es5 also w/sicce. They should all perform similarly.

aquamaxx ConeS CO 1 skimmer review

For those waiting...I would pick up a used skimmer such as eshopps or bubble magnus. Both of those run around 9-10" of water level in the sump. Then sell it for your same cost when you get your aquamaxx. Only thing with reef octopus is most of them run around 5-6" of water so you may need to adjust your sump again.

My co-1 is breaking in right now. No micro bubbles and just starting to get a foam head with a little under 24 hrs of use.
