aquamaxx ConeS CO 1 skimmer review

Marine Depot also has 10% off with the code SKIMMER through the end of the day.

Yes - they have awesome customer service!!! I received the email the next morning and I emailed them (@ 7:38am)asking if there was anyway to receive the 10% off (since I placed my order the day before) with my order number. Less then an a half an hour later (8:00 am) I got a response and they credited my account. I must say that's awesome service / made my morning !!! :D

great or usual

great or usual

Was it a great price, or the usual price?

I got a 10% discount on the skimmer, two T-5's bulbs for 17 dollars each and map price for the Apex temp probe.

At the sidewalk sale I purchased a Aqua Medic 250 M80 ballast cube a AM 150 M81 ballast cube and a Tunze 9410 skimmer pump for nice and cheap.

This skimmer is on my short list of replacements for my current one, so I was curious how the pricing was at their sidewalk sale.

I did not see one at the sidewalk sale, I had ordered mine a couple of weeks ago and it just so happened to arrive at the same time the sale was going on so I did a Will Call. The sale was a scratch and dent sale, so if you had a good eye and did not mind digging through a ton of stuff their was some gems to be found, I could of spent 400 to 500 bucks more than the 400 I already spent. So next year I will be saving even more money and bringing cash with me.

I heard there was a Hydra 26 and a Hydra 52 there Eco Tech MP 10 Kessil 150 Ocean Blue. There are some pictures of the event on Marine depot forum.

What are people running for water depth with the CO-1?
I have 8" of water in my skimmer area, will that be enough?

Can someone put a tape measure next to their assembled skimmer so I can have some height reference.

Mines running in 8 1/4" of water. I run the sponge in my Eshopps sump, because the water outlet hole is about 8.5" high, so without the sponge I get a bit of water splash noise. I think the skimmer would be dead silent in 9" of water.

I got mine from Marine Depot a month ago with 10% discount. Very easy to set up. I had to make a glass baffle of 9.5" high which is recommended by everyone here. I love the fact that I can dial very easily to have dry black skimmate or very wet one. I am still experimenting to find out which kind of skimmate I like best. I am now calling this little skimmer a "tiny monster".

I just got mine at the same Marine Depot sale, and running at 9.25. I am totally amazed at the skimmate this bad boy is pulling out, it totally outperforms my SRO 1000 on my 80G.
