aquamaxx ConeS CO 1 skimmer review

The display tank is 12.5G and the sump is also 12.5g. Net volume would be approx 20G, maybe slightly less. Stocking level is light, mainly SPS and a few LPS. 3 small fish.

Thanks for your help, maybe the WS1 would be more suited to my needs?

Cheers

no problem!

the WS1 would be much more suited to your needs since the DT is so small

I'll pm you a link to a thread if you haven't read it already.

Thanks mate seen the thread.

Can you confirm the height of the c01 skimmers cup (IE if you placed the cup on the table what is the total height). I still may opt for this skimmer, but need to make sure I have sufficient space to remove the cup from the small area under my tank (gap between sump lip and top of cabinet).

Cheers

WS 1 is an awesome skimmer. I am using it on a 30 gallon breeder for frags. You may want to buy the bubble trap for it. It cuts down on the bubbles coming out.

Hi All,

Can someone please help us out with this measurement if possible, thanks a million.

cheers

man this c01 cup is not as easy as a normal cup.
has anyone found any good way or tools to clean it??

other than that, skimmer seems to be working good, it replaced an old asm gs3 in my 58 with sump.

is anybody running this skimmer at 8-3/4" of water, before i pull the trigger on it i just wanted to make sure. I will be switching from vertex 130 to this. any pro or cons please.

Mine keeps overflowing. I just installed it today. I tried messing with the gate valve but it really just keeps falling all the way down. Any ideas?

Guess I just figured it out after reading through the thread some. My tank is brand new so I guess it needs to just break in.

My baffle is 8 3/4" tall, so my water level is slightly higher than that. Skimmer works great and no output splashing noise.

Well I took the standpipe out completely and now it's skimming like a champ. What would be the cause of this? Also is the clear plastic at the bottom of the pipe supposed to move at all up or down? Mine doesn't and the hole that is in the pipe is in the white part of the tube. It's completely solid after or outside of the white part.

Anybody used epoxy and have the skimmer go insane? After using epoxy for a couple of frags, I turned the skimmer off for 3 hours. When I turned it back on it was skimming like normal and 10 minutes later it's overflowing like crazy. I had it sitting at 9 1/5" and since it's constantly overflowing I had to raise it all the way to 7" and it seems to slowly starting to calm down.

Yeah, it happened to me a couple of weeks ago. It took a day or two for the skimmer to get back to normal.

I'm sitting at work and my CO-1 is finally arrived at home. Can't wait to get home and set it up. My baffle is already set at 9" so should be able to drop it right in. Would you guys recommend running it wide open or adjust to have the bubble line right below ware the collection cup connects to the body?

Bubble line right below where the collection cup connects to the body is where I ran mine once it was broke in, but that didn't take long.

run it wide open while it breaks in. Depending on bio load it should take anywhere from 3 to 5 days to stabilize. It wont be completely broken in at that point but you will be able to make small adjustments at that point.

If you need any help PM me
