Aquascaping, Show your Skills...

Thanks. I wanted kind of a spiral staircase effect of ledges, so each area for corals was open to light and good current flow. This also created some nice overhangs and tunnels for other creatures and fish to hide, yet still be visible to me.

The open rockwork allows for good flow all around it and will allow me to keep the sand and glass clean all around.

My expression :)

I glued the fast setting mortar, dries a few minutes

Like quickset?? or what exactly did you use? I used portland cement/sand mixture in the past but found unless you use a lot of it or several coats that it doesn't work as well as I would like, not to mention the long dry time

Here is my new setup. Im actually happy with how my aquascape turned out for once.

Hi, I used CX 5 Rapid cement (Ceresit)

a link to the manufacturer's website.

- very well combines rock
- Waterproof
- dries very quickly (about 5 minutes)

I recommend :)

beautiful. What did you use to glue it together?

Hey thanks! The arches are constructed with acrylic and fiberglass rods along with superglue/reef putty. I got the acrylic rods off of Amazon and a fiberglass rod from Wal-Mart that was a reflector originally. The columns are all constructed with rods and putty and I covered up wherever you could see the rods with random loose rock with putty. To get them to stand up I used a hacksaw to saw the bottoms flat.

Today at cleaning back glass one island fall :(

So I have to redo my rock work :headwally:
