I made some changes today, lowering the overall height of the rockwork and removing some of the sand to promote a cleaner a tank. I'll post pics later
Really nice looking rock setup, it is really unique.

I love it! Where did you get the acrylic rods? I have seen them on macro rocks website with nuts etc... How did you secure everything together after you drilled and inserted the rods?
Thanks! And thanks for posting the pics!
Thanks Alex,
Most of the rocks (including the ones I used as base) came from my old tank. I started with them as dry rocks and turned them back into dry rocks after a year long battle with caulerpa.
When I first set up my old tank I loved the texture of the rocks as well! I think within 6 months or so you could barely see the nice rocks anymore. I have a lot of large gorgos and encrusting stuff, large sun coral colonies, etc. They all tend to grow over.
It is a shame to bury so much nice rock under sand but I liked the stability. The flat wide base was perfect and I think the jawfish will be worth it.

These pictures were taken right before I took the tank down....
Good news is that i am upgrading to a custom 220 gallon (72"x30"x24") once I get moved into my new house in a month!
