ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

Never mind. Found the answer. There's this thing called Grumble or Booble or Glimble or Google or something like that. It lets you find information online. You might want to check it out...... I think it will catch on.

I just joined the club! Collected my 8 bulb 5ft fixture yesterday. Now I need to figure out mounting options for this thing - it's really heavy! Is 2 screws into the ceiling for the 2 "top hat" portions of the hanging kit really going to hold it up long term? I have fears of the light kit crashing down into the tank if the screw or the concrete around the screw gives way. I had a friend hang a normal Sunpower via "L" brackets into the wall... the screws holding his "L" brackets gave way and his light went crashing into the tank.

Hello everyone,

I don't actually have a hybrid powermodule, but you guys are as close to a home as I can find..

The fixture that I am running is a 48" 8 bulb ati sunpower that has been retrofitted with 8 nanobox v3 LED arrays (each arrays is approx 30 watts).

The arrays are positioned in 4 banks of 2 arrays each. Each bank can have the blue levels controlled independently, but all the different "blues channels" are combined/controlled on one slider for each bank. The white level is controlled on a different slider, but the white values are not independently controlled per bank, but instead one slider controls all the banks' white levels.

Two of the 8 bulb fixture's t5s were removed to house the LEDs. So the fixture consists of 6 t5s and 8 LED arrays.

The light is hung over a 48x18x20 display with sps. Right now the fixture is 12 inches above the waterline.

I've been trying to figure out the best bulb configuration/light schedule/etc, and was hoping to get some help with that.

I am currently running 3 blue+, 2 coral+ and 1 purple+ bulbs and running my Leds at 55% blue with 25% white.

My Par is in the low/mid 400's near the top tier of the corals and 300ish par on the bottom of the tank.

At this point I am running the LEDs for 12 hours a day, with the LED peak for about 6 hours and I am running all 6 T-5s (I only have one channel) for 6 hours a day along side the LED peak.

I recently reduced the the t5 duration/LED peak by one hour, and lowered the LEDs from 75% blue 45% white to the 55% blue 25% white and raised the light 3 inches, since I was seeing some lightening of tissue of a few SPS frags that were upper to mid tank.

Any input would be appreciated :)

Thanks

Does anyone know the actual dimensions of the fixture for the 48" 3x75W LED 8X54W T5 model? I can't find the dimensions anywhere online.

I'm wondering if two units will fit under my 8'x2'x1' canopy.

You can overlap the cords in the middle, so one unit sits just above the other in the centre. I do this and it's not a problem.

I switched over from Giesemann Spectra 400W Radium and ATI blue T5 to Hybrids.

I haven't looked back. The violet/ blue channel on less cant be replicated with a MH set up. It is amazing to see.

This is the best light unit on the market, IMO!

I got poor workmanship from ATI in my 8x80w hybrid. I don't know how they fit it in the factory, but after I installed my bulbs, I can't screw the outer screw back in. The groove doesn't align.

You can see here the groove is too shallow:

I've already pushed it all the way in and screwed the other end in so it can't go further in:

I'm a diy klutz so I don't have the tools or skills to fix this myself, nor do I want to void any warranty by attempting and screwing up a fix. I am disappointed with ATI given how much they charge for this set - one would expect better workmanship

Yup, it was difficult to unscrew and the acrylic was very tightly wedged when I took it out, so I'm assuming they used machinery to force it in. Doesn't change the fact that it's now impossible to align by hand

If u look back threw the post i had the same issue. With my light the screw standoff actually broke off inside the heat sink housing i had to buy a 100 dollar 4mm easy-out kit and fixed the light myself. It happened because of the acrylic shield not lining up put to much pressure on the screw and snapped it off. You can take a drill bit and kinda ream out the acrylic so the holes line up.

There are different versions;)

The new LED cluster with violet LEDs are supposedly only for US customers. Mr. Pritzel once said you like the;-)
For us in Germany, they are meaningless. I also got a newer model without violet LEDs.

I am looking at options for hanging this light fixture other than from the ceiling. Any suggestions on hangers that will mount to stand and support this fixture? Thanks.

Hello :) The fans in my 8×54W+ 3×75W are very loud. IT seems that they are working in max speed. I have this problem for 3-4month. Before it was very quite. In my opinion it's a problem with the control device of the fans. Do have any idea what to do?

My fan does not start properly and ATI sent me a set of new but it did not help. I also appreciate that the controller is defective.
