I figure I "œneed" to get some lights to play with, even if the tank is months away.

The only T5's I've run before were the actinics on an Outer Orbit MH/T5 unit, so I haven't had opportunity to mix and match before.

In general, I don't like a blue-looking tank. 10K, maybe 12, is about as high as I like to go. The ATI FAQ's page lists this combination as producing the least blue rendition ("œ10K - 14K - Crisp white with just a hint of blue").

4 B+
2 ABS
2 P+

I was thinking, though, that I want more of the warmer components., so I was thinking about this combination:

1 ATI Aquablue Special/1 Geisemann Aquablue Azure
1 ATI Coral +
2 ATI Purple +
3 ATI Blue +

Thoughts? Too much on the yellow, green, orange, red components? Obviously I can supplement with the LEDs to match the various T5's using the pre-programmed settings, so perhaps it would be better to go with 4 of the blues as recommended and use the LEDs to emulate one of the other bulbs if I think I need a warmer rendition?

Thanks.

Ken

Considering buying this fixture. 60in. I have a 72x30x24 and was wondering if I wanted to could I run just the LEDs and would they be enough to support a mixed reef. A lot of sps at the top? I would most likely run the T5s for just a few hours a day. But I really like the LED kessil look (blue channel only) on my 30frag tank. They are quite bright enough and everything does well under them. Just wondering if the LEDs are powerful and bright enough for this size tank? Thanks

Have to say i'm a bit gutted that the latest incarnation is shipped with a UV led in the module, I only got mine a couple of months ago, built to order by ATI and the UV module is not present in the LED cluster :sad1:

te - 75

Could you confirm where you read this?

My unit was pur hased last week and it does not have any purple or uv led.
Only red, white ans 2 blues

My apologies - I could have sworn i'd seen it mentioned on this thread a few weeks back, but I think I misunderstood / misread the post!

Sorry to confuse you :uhoh3:

IMO this light is built as a hybrid but primarily as a T5 lamp and LEDs only as supplements. LEDs are powerful but if you want to go primary LEDs then I would research an alternative. If I was buying I would go with an ATI Sunpower T5 unit and Reef Brite LEDs.

+1

i bought this as a new toy and initially it was awesome.. started having problems with fan working/stopping, led turning on/off at random as well as led's ramping and dimming at will.. T5 units turning on/off.. do the 4 button reset, voila all ok.. for about 15 minutes
Wrote to ATI now.. honestly, I have had every single sun power from 24 to 80 watts.. feeling a bit cheater and disappointed..
put my sun power back on till I can resolve the issues
anyone else having issues that is not getting resolved?

I basically cannot trust the controller at all and my alkalinity is all over the show.. only with Xmas time off I found just how much the lights are playing up

Here too. Random on-off.

So I am going to be buying the 60 inch fixture and joining this club at the end of Jan. My question is I have a standard 150 tank and am debating between getting the 8 or 4 bulb version. I seem to remember seeing the 8 bulb would be wider then my tank??? does this sound right? This will be a SPS dominate mixed reef. Do you guys think I should go with the 8 or 4 bulb

Order placed for 2 x Blue Plus and 1 x Coral Plus tubes to replace the 2 x ABS and possibily Actinic.

I'm still getting large shading / pale spots on parts of my SPS even with the 8 bulb fixture being bigger than my tank (so coverage isn't the issue)?

Aqualight solution in France. They have stopped selling the product.

I'm still interested by the product.
It's for a Red Sea reefer 250 (36×20×20) and sps/lps keeping.
The 4X39w T5 + 150w LED is too much ?

Hey billier2,

please feel sure that nothing of this is true. I am the owner of ATI and Aqualight solution has a current order of a Hybrid. My Team will contact him and let him know how I think about this.

Anyway, a 4x39 Watt Hybrid will be perfect for a Reefer 250. We have a lot of german customers how are very happy with this combination. All you need to do is to check all the great tanks that are illuminated with our hybrids.

thanks,
Oliver
