Atomic081's 225 Gallon Reef w/ Basement Fish Room

sweet setup, and a sweeter fish room, house remodeling looks great too!, i have the same skimmer and if you add a 1 1/4" T with a bunch of holes drilled out of the bottom of it and a cap on top it will be pretty much dead silent.

Can you post me a picture? I tried a 1 1/2 pipe but it was too small maybe the outside diameter of a 1 1/4 T is bigger than a 1 1/2 pipe.

Yes, its the outside diameter, fits perfectly in there.

you can see the drilled holes in the bottom, i also added an extender to bring it to the overflow but you won't need it since it's draining back into the sump.

Sweet, Thanks for the help. Ill be trying this out tomorrow. Sat is tank moving day!!!

Looking great. You should have buckled the Geo 612 in just in case.. Did you decide on what you were going to do for lighting?

Thanks ntrlsur, Im going with 3 of the Reefbreeder photon 16". I have 90 deg and 120 deg optics but im not sure what ones im gonna use with the 30" tall tank. Its a bad picture, but here they are.

One other question i have for people. My refugium overflows into my skimmer tub and then into a 7" filter sock. Im considering just running the overflow into the Rubbermaid tub and bypassing any filter sock so that any pods can go into the tank. What do you think?

Try it both ways and see, I usually take a turkey baster and grab the pods from my sock, but that is one less place nitrates can build up. See what works best.

I picked up a few things on a work trip to Indy.

I got my CO2 tank w/ Solenoid Valve, and a PH controller.

I also picked up a bottle of Bayer Insect Killer to dip my corals in.

Lastly I picked up a Sixline Wrasse to put in my frag tank. Im gonna use him as a Guinea pig for my QT tank before i put my Purple Tang in.

Usually you would go from the display tank to filter socks to skimmer. The refugium would be fed separately from the display tank with a smaller feed and come in after the skimmer and media reactors straight back to the return pump. That way you feed your refugium from the display tank and feed the bugs directly back to the display.

Maybe i should have done it this way, but its a little late now. Mine is run off the main return pump. ohh well at least I can change it so the refugium feeds the tank.

I finished the Wood floor today and will be painting the upper part of the walls Dark blue tomorrow!!! Saturdays tank move is still on schedule!!!!

I Ordered the Jebao Twin linkage controller and 2 WP40s to go with the 1 WP40 I Already have.

I wasnt able to get any water in the tank because im missing a few plumbing parts. I guess ill be waiting until Monday after the holidays. Atleast i got the tank set today. My future wife thinks i'm crazy!!!
