automatic water change

ReelRedfish,

Email was sent to you. Also the lm3 now has 10X reward points so you will get a good deal with what I have proposed.

Eddie, perhaps you did! It may be my fault! I will check.

I hope that all is well with you!

Did you guys get that system I donated installed in the school? How is their tank doing now?

Jeremy

Hey Jeremy, I'm also interested in your system for doing auto continuous water changes. I'm about 60 ft from my garage to my tank where the RODI/saltwater is kept. (Same floor. 1/4 line ran in my crawl space)

Can you email me the exact component list I will need also?

I currently run a apex and already have float valves in my sump for high and low levels for auto top offs if that matters.

Thank you,

Brian

So how many are trying the DOS from Neptune? Looks like to me it would cost much less to purchase the DOS versus one of the other options. However would like to hear some feedback from anyone that is using it for water change.

Would love to hear about this as well...

Put my auto water change on hold to see results from the DOS...

+1, I've yet to even see one. I heard from friends (Eddie) that they are very robust and high quality. I would love to hear from anyone who has experience with them.

+1 also. I have the Apex controller, so I would love to see it in action. I'm about to pull the trigger on one way or the other here soon. Just finished my saltwater mixing station.

Yes Dr. T- i saw it at MACNA Denver, and held it for close inspection when our FMAS team happen to come across Terrence from Neptune while having breakfast. He had one with him. The mechanics of it certainly felt robust, not Stenner robust (an industrial pump), but certainly felt sturdy. They also had the motors out as a comparison to other pumps and their motors appeared to be of better quality, for example to my BRS dosers.. That however is just from me, im not an engineer, so only base my comment on what it felt like to my hand and in observing its sturdy design.

About to go ahead and place an order for one and will just wait the couple weeks to get it.

Was gonna go the liter meter route but i think price and the apex controllability has changed my mind.

I have three of the Neptune DoS. They're very well built, and the programming is great. They can go forward or reverse, at a few different rates from 7ml/min to 250 ml/min. My AWC DoS is currently pulling about 50 feet horizontally and 10 feet vertically with no problem.

My complaint is noise. They are very loud. I've measured mine around 60 db at some of the faster flow settings.

For normal, small portion dosing, they're quiet (around 40db). I ended up moving my AWC to the middle of the night over three hours so I don't notice the noise. They do break in as well, so they've gotten quieter in the weeks I've owned them.

The only other thing that you have to watch is the tubing. The size parameters are relatively particular for a good seal. I have had success with normal RODI tubing, however. The tubing that comes with them doesn't work well with some push connect fittings, either.

How has the accuracy been on the DOS for water changes? How many gallons do you change at a time? How long does it take?

The Stenner pumps I'm guessing would be louder anyway...

Mine have been pretty dead on with water changes. I measured once and it was only a couple ml off.

I change 1.5 gallons over three hours each night. I could probably go faster, but I haven't tried. They aren't rated for continuous duty, so the Apex limits the dosing to prevent overheating.
