Im enjoying Kona Hawaii with my family until Thanksgiving then its on! Gettint some inspiration and motivation since weve been out here.
I need to decide on flow pumps. No vortechs or junkbaos on this build. I need 3 that will move water 6 feet. Any new pumps out I could try?
can you bring me back some nuts. not pun intended.
Someone push me over the edge and convince me not to use sand. I think I wanna keep the 300 barebottom.

I dont usually buy Mac nuts here as you can get the same in Cali.
So why BB now?

Sure, 6105. Mine push water 6' across the tank with enough force to drag bubbles 1/2 the size of marbles to the bottom and 1/2 way back.
That was before rockwork but they are still enough to push bubbles to the bottom from 6' way.
You need the narrow flow version.
Talk to roger but I think not. The narrow flow will push 6 feet with ease.I was thinking 6105s i used to have them. You think the wide flow nozzles would push 6 feet?

Oh, the new ugly tunze pump thing will though. From what I have read and heard, that thing is awsome.
Long running thread on them, but you can ask Roger directly about your specific application and if you have dealt with him before, he is very good and very helpful.

Thanks Mark. Cool pump but yeah not going to want to look at those om the side of my tank.
Maybe this instead of the gyre pump behind my rockwork tho.
That was my first thought but don't dismiss it tht quickly. The approach is that you bounce the flow off walls and stuff and the pump is concealed behind the rock. I would really look into it.
I have officially ordered myself a brand new custom AGE tank and stand. The tank will be displayed at Reef-A-Palooza on November 19th & 20th. I have never owned a tank of this size, so I am excited for my next reefing adventure.
I am always welcome to suggestions.
Tank- 72 L x 36 W x 27 T- 300 Gallons
- 3/4" Starfire on all 3 Sides
-Steel Perimeter Bracing Top and Bottom; Upgraded to 2" (trim)
-Powder Coated Gray (Tank Trim and Stand)
-Black Back; Black Silicone
Overflows- 2 x Synergy Shadow Boxes- 16" (Rated at 1500 gph each.)
Steel Stand- Powder Coated Gray; Extension added for External Plumbing. So basically the stand will be 42" Wide rather than 36" Wide. **Drawing to come later.
Sump- TBD
Flow-
2 x Ecotech Vectra M1's plumbed into 3 x Multi Swirls. I am not sure on the configuration, but probably 2 x Multis on one pump, and 1 x Multi and a Manifold on the other.
**I am not sure on the additonal flow; but I do have 3 x MP40 QDs I can use in the beginning from my previous tank.
Light-
As of right now, a 60" 10 Lamp ATI Powermodule with Reef Brite.
Skimmer-
AquaMaxx C0-5
