"Best of" FO's (since we don't get TOTM's)

The banded acts just like a snowflake, except not as active during the day. I have two large formations on each side of the tank (much like yours) and open area in the middle. Never seen the eel out of his formation except at night. My hope is that the dragon will chose the other side. If they don't work out I have a friend I can give the banded to. I am more worried about him snacking on the wrasse at night.

btw, $150 is a pretty good price, no?

I hoped the dragon would choose a different side than the miliaris, but he wanted whatever cave the miliaris had. It's good you have a back up plan. How large is the wrasse? Because it sleeps in the sand it probably isn't in too much danger.

150 is a good price.

How long have you had your Harlequin tuskfish for? How big is he? My guy is around 6"-8". I would appreciate if you could tell me how many times a day you feed your guy and how much? My Harlequin Tuskfish is eating like a beast. I am not too sure if he's getting enough.

I am currently feeding him a variety of frozen foods and NLS Pellets.

Thanks, I had that annularis since he was about an inch and a half long. He has really started to color up lately. One of the best thigs about this FOWLR is how little care it takes. Basically water changes regularily and clean the MRC skimmer.

Do you like the MRC? I'm somewhat in the middle of planning a 150-180g to be setup the start of next year. Looking hard at MRC skimmers.

Wow yours looks bigger than that from its powerful looking lower jaw. Looks like an older one in the photo.

I've had mine for two years, and he's about 8-9". My feeding can be really random... Sometimes I'll feed 3-5 times a day, and sometimes I won't feed for 3 days if I just had a solid week of heavy feeding. Tusks act forever hungry, though. He has the most enthusiastic "feed me" dance out of my fish. As far as quantity, I'll give him 5-10 NLS pellets for large fish (he ignores the smaller sized ones) and then he shares a decent pinch of flake a couple times a day with the other fish. That's the average day's feeding. He also really loves nori and can eat half a sheet by himself. Once a week he gets a big meaty feeding with as much food as he can take.

Since you can feed frozen foods, I'd give it 1-2 cubes a day (as in just toss them in there for it to eat it without having to share lol) along with the pellets (and nori if you can). Once a week you can give it a treat like a clam or prawn. This should be enough food. So long as you don't see a sunken belly, you're probably feeding just fine.

Maro, your tank is gorgeous! I love the fish, especially that monster french! Love the open look too, your tank is so clean! The rocks, sand, glass, everything is spotless! Whats your secret!? HAHA. I'd worry about adding an emperor angel though with the beast of a french angel. Emperors tend to need to be the boss and I don't think anything is going to take the thrown from that french! VERY NICE tank though!

Thanks, I am much happier with the FOWLR type than the reef. Too much work not much time

Water changes bi weekly, MRC skimmer and cleaning magnet, also a 100 gal refugeium that I think really cleans the water.

I had an emperor about 5" that died, so I am hoping a new emp will work out.

I was wondering what kind of eel is in these pictures?

Thank you LukFox for the response. Yeah. You are right. I haven't measured him. But he's more likely around 8" to 10".
