"Best of" FO's (since we don't get TOTM's)

maro1 - You have a beautiful tank. I love that French Angel. Has your carpet anemone colored up anymore since you added brighter lights to try to get some algae growth? It looks fairly bleached in your older pictures.

18 fish in there currently, but new home coming!

Gonna need some real clean up over the weekend, then reseal it, and prob have it up and running by thursday!

sorry for terrible quality, all with my phone. when i post pics of the 120 up and running i'll actually use the camera.

18 fish are:

1 Large Yellow Tang
2 Small Yellow Tangs
1 Scopas Tang
1 Sohal Tang
1 Sailfin Tang
1 Orange Shoulder Tang
1 Porcupine Puffer
1 Emperor Angel
1 Picasso Trigger
1 Powder Brown Tang
1 Black Shoulder Tang (or EyeLine Tang) still unsure what it is lol.
1 Hippo Tang
1 Foxface Rabbitfish
2 Bullet Gobys
1 Green Wolf Eel
1 Snowflake Eel

Adding once the 120 is up and running :
1 more Hippo, medium size
1 Achilles Tang
1 Clown Trigger
1 Spiny Box Puffer

There are more i wanna add but it'll be a little crowded at that point, so just gotta see what happens.

As far as filtration for the bioload, I picked up a skimmer from a LFS that i often go to, not sure what it is, just know it's pretty old. Real big though, couldn't fit it in my current sump, took about 7 hours to configure and get running correctlly but the thing's amazing. It skims out so much, since i got that my nitrates are nearlly non-existant. Only downfall on it, it requires wooden airstones that need to be changed about once a month. As far as my UV i've got a 40w Gamma that works pretty well in this tank, but i'm thinking of going bigger, just to be safe. Gonna try and get a bigger sump over the next few days to go with the tank.

Not in the picture cause i took him out of the tank, i have a huge hermit crab that's in a shell about 4-5 inches. He is amazing for cleaning the sand in the tank, he makes it look spotless, and i noticed while he was in the tank nitrates where down allot. Although it was nice for the levels, he killed 3 fish while he lived in there. So I'd like to get a big enough sump to put him in there, or a fuge. I've got my eyes on a nice 40 or so gallon sump w/ nice champers in there, only issue is the price wanted for it. So only time will tell what happens!

:( This is the first time i've ever spoken up about size. Your stock list is rediculous. That many BIG fish in a 75? You need to rethink. A 120 is still entirely too small, look into at least a 300 for that many fish, especially with the porc and clown. Poor fish...

Where a 300 is nice, it's deffinatelly not needed for this amount of fish. As long as you have your levels down, which i do, and ensure they stay low with frequent water changes, i don't see it as an issue. Where i agree that the puffer has grown fast, and will continue, it will be some time before he grows to big for even the 120. Down the line, i see no reason not to go bigger, but for the time being, the fish are fine.

The way they eat, believe me, Poor fish is not the case.

awood any pictures of this set up? I also agree you really need to think about your selection of fish in such a small tank.

Thats about the equivalent of putting 30+ adults in a living room for their entire life. Then saying they're comfortable because they have a toilet and unlimited food. ..

I've always read that the rule of thumb is to give the fish 3-4 gallons per inch of fish in the tank. You're sitting at about 1/2 gallon per inch.

Water levels aren't the only thing you need to look out for. Fish can get stressed because of space issues alone. When your fish grow a little and can't swim across the tank without bumping into tank mates they'll show their stress, and one of the fish is probably going to take care of the overstocking issues itself. You have some pretty aggressive fish in there. On the topic of food, they may eat well during feeding time, but what about the rest of the time? You have a BUNCH of grazers in there that are hungry all the time, and with that many working on the algae and sponges, a 120g it's not going to last them long. The shortage of grazing space is going to raise the stress levels, too.

even though I think the tank is crowded now (and will be crowded even more when the fish grow) .. it's a terrible analogy of fish to humans.

Don't know why people do that ....

To try and put things in perspective for people who think putting 15 fish in a 75g is ok. Some people don't understand how wrong that is, but maybe if you dumb it down for them with the crowding a room with people analogy, they MIGHT get it, but will probably just add more fish instead :(

The fish are not large fish. They are far from crowded in there. Going bigger and it'll be enough for them, for a few months. Where i appreciate the info and opinions, the fish are fine.

You are wrong about that. They might be far from crowded, they are WAY OVER CROWDED! And your going to add 6" of width and add more fish? These fish need an 8ft tank. You are sadly mistaken, and not very responsible with the well being off the pets you keep. Sorry to bash you, but this is just disrespectful and horrible.

Take a look at this thread, maybe it will change your mind a bit.
