Where a 300 is nice, it's deffinatelly not needed for this amount of fish. As long as you have your levels down, which i do, and ensure they stay low with frequent water changes, i don't see it as an issue. Where i agree that the puffer has grown fast, and will continue, it will be some time before he grows to big for even the 120. Down the line, i see no reason not to go bigger, but for the time being, the fish are fine.
The way they eat, believe me, Poor fish is not the case.

I've always read that the rule of thumb is to give the fish 3-4 gallons per inch of fish in the tank. You're sitting at about 1/2 gallon per inch.
