Big Sohal Tang

I have never had the nerve to try one of these, as stunning as they are, as I always figured I'd end up with just the one fish!

Well so far mine has a pretty mild personality. He's definitely not in the top of the pecking order. I'm interested to see how coral_lagoon's fish plays with the other kids ;)

Don't let their "bad reputation" scare you away. Like I said I've seen powder blue tangs way more aggressive than a Sohal. Here's a couple of pics of my old Sohal tang. Not the best pics, but the only ones I have. This fish was 10 + inches. Had him for 5 years didn't show any aggression.. My Queen Angel was the leader in this tank..

In FOWLR he might be able to dwell ok. However, in my case he was in a reef tank, and destroyed several large ACRO colonies when he went after the other fish. He was very strong and feared nothing, including me.

Sadly I already have some big tangs that frag corals for me. My desjardini is a tank and is constantly running into acros and knocking big pieces off :( That's the least of my concerns with the Sohal.

A little update.
It's been 17 days treating with Cupramine. The fish has been doing good since day 1. No scratching, twitching, no LP, fungus ect..Eating like a pig too. I'm going to treat with Prazipro next for a week, and then she goes into the DT. .

Here's a video of me hand feeding the Sohal..
