Bite mark, will it heal?

Just got a purple tang for a steal but I did notice something. Near the base of the tail on his upper body theres a less purple area that looks indented. It looks to be a bite mark from another fish that may have taken a little flesh.

Its healed already and is only a slight cosmetic defect, but I was curious if this usually heals or if, like a human scar, its permanent?
 
Usually as the fish age and grow these usually heal and blend in more and more over time. Though it's hard to tell without seeing a picture.

Yes... fish like anything else living can/will/do heal to like new condition..
I believe they also can develop scars.. Only time will tell... While you are waiting you can practice improving your photography skills :p
 
Photography with a phone and a fish that doesnt want to be photographed is tough.

Also you mean yes it can heal or yes its scars?
