key is to measure your own white balance as far as colors go. Not sure how to do that with a Rebel

Great shots! I don't see very much in the way of particles and streaks - did you clean those up in post or is your water just ultra clean?

are you shooting these raw? i have a canon and am so jealous about the awesome Nikon raw compression tools. great pics by the way. i love the way that cardinal looks like it is suspended in mid air... all pumps off?

sorry for the delayed response. thanks for all your comments.

qfrisco - the banggai pics were cleaned up, most dont show too many spots and did clean them up in some.

Boodlefish - believe it or not they were not with Raw, i was having a problem exporting them from Pshop with my D50 and they always lost their color, now that i can shoot Raw and JPEG high i will try it again.
