Brightwell Aquatics NeoZeo method.

Good days mates,

I have run the NeoZeo method for 8 weeks, which has already increased the flow rate of the zeolite reactor to ~100gph since week 5.

However, I find out today that the water pump of the reactor has been blocked up by dirt accidentally and the water flow has become very slow ( I think it has lasted for about 1 to 2 weeks).

I have already cleaned the pump just now. I want to know if I am correct to just open the flow rate to ~100gph again immediately?and add some more mb7 for bacteria replenish? Or I need to start from slow rate again just as the set up?

Thank you

O.K......
I am known as the the guy that will ask the hard questions. So-
For those posting "Anti-Brightwell" feelings...SHOW ME pics of your reef tanks please. I am not interested in the least as to why Randy may or may not "feel the love" for Chris Brightwell. I am ONLY interested in results....
So: - It is put your money where your mouth is time gentlemen. We have all seen pics of tanks using Brightwell, Zeo-Vit, and other systems using the same principles.
And - we have seen pics of the "two-part" dosing approach.

Why are the tanks which use the Neo-Zeo, or Zeo-Vit approach SO much better looking? Granted, there seems to be some algaes to deal with - at least initially - but that is no different than the "old-fashioned" approach promoted by the " chemistry gurus" on this site.

Now - for my full disclosure: I have been using a 2-part approach for years. And I want more color...Don't we all?
So , I want to see - by pictures posted, if it is possible to get/keep the ultra-colorful corals looking their best in BOTH approaches....On you mark!....... POST PICS! And - tell us HOW your run your system please.
Thanks
T

Jackson-
I thought your post was good info, wish you had not deleted. And massive nutrient export obviously works well on smaller gallonage systems. But, When it comes to larger systems - that can be expensive on more than one level - huh? ( lugging water, potential shock to animals if water changes are abrupt rather than gradual, space required to hold a lot of mixed water, etc)

And I want to be clear: I am NOT PRO - or CON as to the use of Brightwell, or Zeo-Vit, or 2-part dosing. I am simply wanting to see the differences that YOU all have experienceed via pictures.
I know the pictures are out there. We are all proud to show off our tanks...right?

For purely educational purposes - NOT a political battle - I especially want the "nay-sayers" to post pictures of their tanks. Show us WHY we should look at one method or another.....

Come on - we are adults (well...not according to my wife:spin1:)

This is a Neo-Zeo thread. Posting other systems here will high jack this thread and is wrong.
Post you Neo tank picture please but leave out all others.
I am a zeovit user with great success but have been following this thread from the beginning and want to continue to learn how this method works and grows.
T, maybe you could start another thread for what your asking?

frankie - I am certain you are right - under the "protection of the thread" thinking. My aopolgies for that perception -
I can start a new thread, but thought that ALL that had posted here, in this thread may want to show - not talk about -SHOW their tanks, in support of their position pro - or - con.
Input?
Thanks,
T

I think this was a great idea teesquare ! Like a local reefer here in SoCal post in his (gcarroll) signature, "Be wary of advice coming from those who will not show you the fruits of their success!" . Kind of says it all.

I am keeping my eye out for the thread. I love to show off my successes with zeovit :D

Rick - you need not be anybody's manservant....well - maybe Danielle's:spin3:

Jackson - I am not interested in the LEAST in "debate". I think it stands between us and real learning. I am just asking anyone posting just to show their tank, and to post how thery are running their tank. But I understan why you would be concerned about that -
Hopefully in the thread Rick started, all ULN users - not just Zeo-Vit guys - will post!

Do you guys know if I can have a NeoZeo system w/o the NeoZeo media? I want to keep dosing vodka and use the other brightwell products to mantain a low nutrient system.
Thanks in advance.

"goes bad" may not be the right way to look at it....( Because I wonder if it can be re-charged! )It think it may be that it gets congested or glogged on the surface enough that some of it should be replaced a little at a time...can't remember - I think they recommend 20% every cuople of months

I have a general question. Does the neozeo zeolite media goes bad? Meaning will I have to replace the media

From the NeoZeo-Method pdf.
"Every six-weeks, change 25% of the NēoZeo media and add 1 ml MicrōBacter7 and Reef BioFuel per 100 US-gallons daily for one week before resuming normal dosing schedule."

Again from the NeoZeo-method.pdf.
"the utilization of a family of selective zeolites for the dual
purpose of extracting ammonia/ammonium and providing a substrate for the
colonization of beneficial microbes."

So, yes you can use NeoZeo additives w/o the Neo-Zeo media. Though it might be less effective as to using the whole system (zeolites, bacteria and carbon source). ;)
