So i was successful in hatching my brine shrimp, just not sure how i should store them once they are hatched....I just fed my 29 gallon a strawful and left the rest in the DIY liter bottle with air pump and desk lamp still running. Can the shrimp stay alive this way or is there a different way to house them....thanks in advance!!!!

When I was constantly hatching out brine for dwarf seahorses I once had... I used to keep the hatched brine right in the same container and after 24 hours would start feeding the brine enrichments. I used both the Algamac and NatuRose from (click here) . The enrichments keep your brine alive and growing while also providing a little extra nutrition to whatever ends up eating the brine.

if you like you can refridgerate them as well. this slows there metabolism and will keep them smaller longer if you need to keep them as nappuli for a day or two.

Why do you need to store them?

Brine shrimp should really be used quick, they loose their nutrition. You could gutload them with phytoplankton and omega to enrich. But for the most part they are so easy to hatch and cheap that I would only suggest hatching them at the rate you plan to use them up. If you are hatching them to feed to baby fish or inverts, it should be an ongoing process of hatching fresh batch every other day or so. If plan to raise them to adult size, just start with a small population and feed with phyto.

yep, g nailed it. i keep it gangsta when raising brine. dirty tank water in a 40 oz . i don't bother with air ,window sill speeds things up enough for me. i make only what i can use,and feed asap

thanks everyone for responding. After some research i siphoned what i could out of the hatchery and am currently storing them in the fridge. Pretty much got the same answer from everyone is that they lose their nutritional quality after a few days so just going to make enough to last a few days at a time. Thanks again to everybody who replied!!!
