Brown slime algea browing on sps

I have 7 sps frags 1 has what looks like brown algea slime growing on its tips.
The frag still looks to be doing good except for the the tips. There is good polyp extension and color. My question is what could be causing this?
My levels are perfect but I did have a slight fluctuation in temp from 78-74and now stable at 76within the past 48 hours. The egg crate that was housing the frag has the same algea in the section it was located so I relocated the frag to a diffrent section thinking it could be lighting caused by t5's. I would like to add that I have good flow 2 mp60's in a 300 gallon.

Sometimes corals can clean themselves but this may take months. You may want to try biomate by zeovit you can get it in small quantity and it will last a long time. Do you have the brown stuff growing on the rocks as well.

just on the egg cratte and on the acro no where else and there were two acros one on each side of the one with brown slime un effected.

something caused the tip of acros to burn, and algae growing on the exposed skeleton.

might be sting from another coral nearby, could be crabs, could be KH fluctuations. and many other factors.

just keep an eye on the SPS ...

The coral had burnt tips and algae grew on the exposed skeleton. You can snip the tips to avoid further algae growth.

Thats the million dollar question. Usually this is ALK burn … but there are many many other possibilities.

Def burnt tips, usually when too clean of water meets higher alk levels or when you move a coral from a weaker light source to a stronger. Then if you combine the both, well you know.

Snip the tips like what was said from above, maybe lower light cycle for a week and lower your alk a bit depending on what your nutrients are at.

Lowered light cycle to 8 hours lowered sps in tank retested alk currently at 6 dkh ph always constant at 8.2 raised temp to 78.

Issue has become slightly worse help please
went out and bought a alk raiser to dose waiting to see if dkh increased.
