Well there goes another great resource (a company owner). If much more of this happens might as well not even see a vendor or owner on here ever again.

Ok Guys lets get back on topic

Lunchbucket
I agreed with you 100% we like to see a "company owner" show as what is coming up... that is it.

As for Klaus making posts here or our other dealers forum ,I will ask him to stay away from doing that from this point on ,I do apologize in advance for any confusion this may have caused.

Asking Klaus to refrain from posting would be a huge mistake if you want to move plastic. I can't speak for others, but a big reason I bought a BK was because of Klaus postings. The pictures of the factory, the prototypes, the unseen details that make a BK one of the best skimmers available. Klaus is one of the few innovators in a market crowded with copycats and his talent and enthusiasm shines through in his many postings and pictures.

hahnmeister summed it up when he posted the picture of a beaming Klaus holding a BK-Mini like a new father holding his first baby. "Would this guy let you down??"

Klaus posting may have obvious downsides like increased support costs for the distributors/dealers, but the not so obvious upsides are much greater. You need every advantage you can get to compete with much cheaper copycats.

I fully agree. Asking Klaus not to post is not really the best course of action, IMO

I fully agree. As a BK mini 180 owner I would be very dissapointed if Klaus did not post anymore. What sold me on the skimmer was the support of BOTH PA and Klaus. Having the designer and tester help answer questions is a very valuable resource for a customer base that is putting down alot of money for what is considered the best skimmer on the market. How should we expect Jeremy to fully answer our questions when he only received the BK mini skimmer a week before many of us. It is the vendors responsibility to set end user expectations so next time somebody cries loudly on the boards about where Klaus is it should be immediately clarified where the responsiblility lies. I would highly recommend you reconsider taking away one of the biggest selling points of the BK line and that is Klaus's passion for quality and innovation.

To add a bit more, when I saw the listing for the BK skimmers on Premium Aquatics site I thought "there's no way those skimmers are worth that kind of money." After reading more and more posts from Klaus and seeing pictures of how they are made I was convinced. Maybe it is just the type of consumer I am, but it did the trick for me.

Face it, you guys sell a lot more than just RE products. Proline represents three or four other manufacturers of skimmers and PA sells dozens of other models. You just don't have the time and enthusiasm to promote RE as well as Klaus. You may not realize it, but aside from happy customers, Klaus is by far your best salesman for RE products.

As their Dealer it is our job to take care of any Customer Service ,Marketing ,Warranty ,... here in US,so really It would be our decision how to handle warranty Issues,....however Klaus is here more than anything as a hobbyist & Innovator not a business owner.
He usually gets quiet excited about his new products & how they going to effect the hobby, more often than none we end up talking about new products than business.
Now there have been quiet a few people either on this board & a few others that have expressed the same concern as if the manufacturer is present on board to promote their business howcome they do not offer customer support, wether I agree with this argument or not ,we are just trying to get rid of any confusion & also keep all our customers happy to the best of our ability.
Please keep in mind We can spend 15 minute a day in this forum to let you know about new innovations that are going to be out there soon & how they can benefit your system ,however to offer CS well will be a lot longer than 15 min. We would rather use that time to serve you in proper & more effective ways rather than PM you back & forth.
I hope you understand the reasoning behind this ,really most times it is not our decision to leave a board or not post ,.. they usually get dictated to us by our customers in many words.Same as what most moderators mentioned about ER I was talking to Jeff @ ER & we all have the same concern how can we be out here & promote the hobby ,share the knowledge & KEEP EVERYONE HAPPY @ THE SAME TIME.
This seems to be still the biggest Challenge.
Last thing I like to apologize to Jason Frey & Jeremy Brower for using their Forum & getting this thread side tracked however I felt necessary to make sure you all know our Challenges as well.
I hope we can go back to the BK thread now,if you have any questions or comments for Proline or Royal-exclusiv please do not hesitate to contact us either by PM ,phone or email

Okay guys how good is the skimmer?? Was it easy to set up? I am currently using a Life reef in sump unit. Never had a problem. Its about 5 years old now. I have a fully loaded 150 display and a 40 gallon refugium and 50 breeder for extra water volume. Hold about 110 gallons total due to the live rock and dsb.

I was thinking the Bubble King mini 200.
I liked the life reef cause its plug and play. I use to have an aqua medic system. If the wind blew the wrong way it stopped working.

I want a kick arrrssss unit that will work like a horse!!! i run ozone also. I have all SPS and just want a skimmer that works overtime.

Thanks Jay

So Proline, did you tell Klaus to quit posting or ???

Ever heard of the term ... Boycott, really fascinating concept

I think we have steered off topic for long enough in this thread. Any more little "drop-ins" is doing nothing more than dragging the thread further away than it's intended purpose. At this point if anyone does not have any questions or remarks directly related to the skimmers themselves, I will have the thread either locked, or completely deleted. Please get back on track here!

I honestly think the 180 is plenty big enough for you, and would save the $$$ in my opinion. These skimmers have an EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE rating on them direct from the factory.

PM sent I have a ton of sps and would always want to know I can expand thats why i would want the 200

I can see you needing the 200 on a 150 actually. If you have a high bioload like I do... tons of corals, and tons of fish. I was pretty shocked that I would need a 1000-1200lph needlewheel skimmer for my 125g.... but it fills every 2 days. I suppose the 10 fairy wrasses and the 4 tangs must make alot of poop....lol...

Then you may want to get the 200. I am running a 180, even though right now a 160 would easily handle my system, for that very same reason.

I have been very pleased with this skimmer, its very quiet, super easy to clean and VERY well made. One thing to keep in mind, the water level around the skimmer needs to be constant and stable. Its been pulling very consistently. Here are some pics from tonight:

My water level in one of my tanks is 14 1/2 inches deep. It has a very stable water level. Would that be good? The unit is almost 22 inches tall.

You would have to raise the skimmer, water level should be between ~8-10 inches, 20-25cm according to the user manual. I have found mine works a bit better at the higher end of this, mine is in about 10" of water.

okay I can place it where the old skimmer is. I have enough space for the 200 series.
the water level is about 91/2 inches.
The only problem thats where i have my auto top off at. It varies less then 1/4 inch do you think that will be a problem? My life reef works fine.

Jeremy, Klaus went from larger more expensive BK's to these mini Bks............can you ask him if he will make a nano BK? That would be awesome to show people........a nano BK hang on the back skimmer!! That would be SWEET........can you ask him if he is even thinking of this?

Tunze has a nano skimmer.......Klaus could do one too, he would just have to find a pump that works like the Red Dragon.
