bubble magus-BK knockoff

If a patented product is infringed here, there is legal recourse available that will put an abrupt end to that and force the infringer to pay the patent owner. If a patented product is infringed in China, there is next to nothing that can or will be done about it.

I don't know the specifics about what patents are owned by RE in regards to their skimmers. From Klaus's responses, it seems like there is infringement in this product. If that is the case, then it is unfortunate that there is no legal recourse for Royal Exclusive.

"No need to go to china to see BK-Knockoff we have them here

Dam ... 960 lpm Air running at 40 watts going for $998..... um ...that sucks ....lol

They should look into the PSK-2500's lol

Yeah, those sicce pumps are great

Love how they can't even be run externally w/out shaking the house down ... oh yeah, the start up problems are grade A too.....

RE should stop production on their Dragons and eheim should too..... Sicces are wayyyyyy better

"Yeah, those sicce pumps are great "

I guess, Tunze thinks so, as does ATI ....but what would they know, right ?

1) you dont have startup problems if

A] fishing line is used
b] if they are machined which companies are starting to do

2) they have been run externally without problems. And if you as me, it doesn't matter for this application since the skimmer i was talking about is running the Ehiem pump in the water anyways,:mixed:

Next :)

me too. my octopus nw-200 owns..

the wealthy will continue to fund your r&d while the rest of us will apply our engineering band-aids to cheaper knock offs. and the world turns..

Oh yeah.. fishing line. Thats right. Just what I like to put in all my pumps  Nothing like buying a GREAT pump and putting fishing line in it to make it work  Thats factory recommended right? I'm gonna replace all my pumps with these.....

Fishing line.. I'm trying to keep my fish alive, not catch them with a sapling... Fishing line

And yes, sure they "work" when run externally..... the overheating, and loud noise are both fine qualities I look for when shopping for a pump

You guys kill me

Wow, name calling :D Brilliant!!!

Isn't that what children do when they can't come up with a logical retort? Or when they know that they are wrong?

Unsubscribing and adding you to my ignore list. Congrats bud!

BTW, thanks for the pics. I had never seen a meshwheel before.....

Do you have pictures of aquariums? I don't know what one of those is either ;)

"Isn't that what children do when they can't come up with a logical retort? Or when they know that they are wrong?"

Lol, That is true, but I am neither of the things you pointed out. What I am though is short of patience and refuse to humor ill-informed individuals.

Plus I’m also cranky due to lack of coffee ….lol

Now back to the topic :p

jman did you get nice pms from jimdog?? OR am I the luck one to get pm's from non medicated people. It's only a skimmer.. take a deep breath. Things will be ok...

I have searched everywhere on and off today and I cant find any where were Royal Exclisiv has an International patent on the bubble plate?

Do you have one??

If not then they are using your idea and making a less expensive piece of plastic. Good for them! Better for people that like inexpensive skimming.

Magvi-what models have you tested? I do see on that site that they use the aquabee pumps as well. That big arse beckett looks nice as well!!

Ostrow it is cleaned out now

I, for one, would love to see the Chinese make a skimmer that hangs with the overpriced rivals. I mean, when you look at a $1000 skimmer, does it look like a peice of equipment you should have paid $1000 for? They have got "maybe" $50 tied up in the acrylic materials. As for the R&D, every skimmer out there is basically a knock-off of some other skimmer. There are only a couple of basic skimmer designs and all the skimmers out there are a variation of those basic designs. The "heart and soul" of the skimmer is the pump. And, yes, I see where a good quality pump is a necessity. This is probably where the Chinese will fail. But even the big skimmer manufacturers do not make their own pumps. For example, H&S will take a Eheim 1260 that sells for $120 and and modify it with a needlewheel they have manufactured. That needlewheel will cost you and I $140 to purchase, they might have $10 worth of manufacturing costs involved there. The impeller is costing more then the entire pump. Does anyone else see a problem with this? If these knock-offs do nothing else other then drive skimmer prices down where they should be, I will be happy. I know R&D and tooling isn't free, but the mass production process should offset those costs to a large extent.

I am not trying to get anyone bent out of shape, this is just the way I see it.

They don't Klaus never got a patent.

Victor you starting argument....

geoxman :

i never test them but i saw a lot of them in other forum.

if you want to buy one go with the BM160 its a good skimmer and use Aqua B 2000 . you change the pump and use the same impeller or buy a small convertor.

jimdogg187 :

a lot of ppl use the Sicce on the Ati skimmer without any modification and they work good , i don't think that those pump bad .

Luke :

Kz work on (request to get it... ) the patent before everyone but i don't think they got it...
as far as ATB they can't patent it to.

there is always a way to break the patent.
