Build Thread!!: Going from standard 120G to custom 200G

As many of you have heard, I bought Manny's (GasMans) tank. I have been wanting to upgrade for a while but due to the Spouse Factor, and the obvious lack of space ( I live in a small townhouse), it has been difficult.

When Manny posted his tank up for sale and I saw the dimensions, It was a no brainer. The tank is one foot wider than mine, 6 inches wider, and a few inches taller. That gave me another 80 gallons with little compromise in space. Lourdes HAD to agree.

Eighty gallons is a nice difference considering the fact that my corals are growing into each other, causing me to be on a decline instead of an improvement regarding my tanks health. Corals are shading each other and fighting for space.

So........... below I will post some pics as I upgrade. Hope you guys enjoy, and feel free to comment. :wavehand:

This is the Stand!!!!

Hard to see but it is TALL (42"). When tank is on it you dont have to bend down to see tank. Or maybe its just cause im short, LOL

Tanks overflow is on left side. Those that have been to my house know that is the main corridor in my house, so I painted.



Ive had a conversation with Matt (Mr X) and am considering an overflow along back of tank, and sealing the holes on the left side. What do you guys think??????

While I LOVE SPS; And have had the great fortune of being able to keep them for a long time I want to chill and do more of the nice LPS and softies and have a combo tank.

NOPE.

My 120 is still up and doing fine.

The 200 is in the garage. I will set up little by little, and it wont go up until Im happy with the set up.

Im in no hurry.

BTW- Yes the 120 will be up for sale soon!!!!!!

dont upgrade tank, just start a new one and keep the 120 running

Nice Eddie, a fresh start really gets you back into the hobby.

If your putting in same location, its a PIA. Do a fresh water run 1st in your garage. Let me know if you need help.
