Buildup of a 210 gallon Reef

Well, the 210 went on sale at my LFS so I ordered that. It should arrive next week some time. Time to get to work fast!

Me, jocoxvt and friend and his roommate went to IDOTANGS shop and got the tank today. Heavy beast but not nearly as bad as I thought.

Here are the pics:

Please, please, please tell me everything will be okay with this stand!

no, i think there's something wrong with it. i think you better give it to me so you don't have a safety hazard at your house. ;)

Thanks Mike!

Not much going on as of recent. I'm helping a friend build a stand and canopy for his 100 gallon cube and working on my plumbing when I have time. I'm almost done with the return portion.

I am testing a pair of vortech's on the 210 though....

This is the only new tank pic I have now:

LOL, it's going terribly slow! With the 90 I had an excuse, I needed to get a house first. Now I have everything I need, just not time!

It's been a while since an update has been given...

I decided to get a little fancy with the trim on this tank, at least the piece covering the bottom trim of the tank.

In this picture you can see a close-up of the trim. This is in fact three pieces. The first piece was a 1/4" x 6 piece of oak I cut down to 4" and then routed a design. The second piece is the same trim I have on my current 90. The last piece was a 1x2 piece of oak that I routed the top and bottom to round it off. I think the outcome was quite nice.

Here is the completed stand trim:

Looking good thrlride!! Keep the updates coming. On your canopy, is that solid stock or plywood. I'm assuming you joined the pieces with a pocket hole jig. I think I read that earlier in this thread and your other thread. I just got all my lights in yesterday so it's about time to build the canopy

The get wet date will hopefully be the weekend of the 12th. I'm not oncall so it should be an all day event.

The canopy was totally assembled with a pocket jig and I really like the outcome.

I just picked up the polyurethane today so I'll get started on that and hopefully mount the doors.

I still need to mount the power strips. They will be mounted on the left side of the stand just above the fuge. I will somehow make a hinge so they can move out of the way too.

For the near future this will be transferred to it:

Then who knows. I want a Lawnmower Blenny, possibly a streamer naso tang and replace the chromis with anthias.
