Bulb compatability question

I currently own a Coralife Aqualite Elite series fixture (Mogul lamps with magnetic ballasts) and am wanting to upgrade the bulbs from the 175watt Coralife bulbs that came with the fixture to the 15K Iwasaki lamps. Are these lamps compatable with these ballasts? I can't find anything on the type of ballasts that came with the fixture.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You most likely have an M57 ballast with that fixture, which is a standard probe start magnetic ballast. The 15k 175w Iwasaki is spec'd to run off of this exact ballast, M57, and will give the best light output as well as longest life on this type of ballast.
