Calcium Reactor Intimidation

It seems as though the hobbyist that are really into keeping SPS often times have a calcium reactor. To be honest It's very intimidating as a novice reef keeper to look underneath someone's tank and to see a calcium reactor sitting outside of their sump. The idea of plumbing to and from the reactor and possible floods have been enough to keep me from going this direction. Is there an insump calcium Reactor that doesn't need separate plumbing or a simpler version of the calcium Reactor?

You can place pretty much any calcium reactor in the sump.

As long as you buy high quality components you'll be ok. Trying to go cheap on a carx gets you headaches.

A properly designed and fed calcium reactor will not flood. If it floods it's because it's being fed wrong or the seals are faulty which is a risk with pretty much any other tank component containing seals and flow.

They can be intimidating and take some time to understand. I did probably a years worth of solid research before purchasing mine and I'm glad I did. It's important to fully understand how to set one up and plumb it before trying. Definitely not a learn as you go piece of equipment.

I far prefer running a quality CaRx setup to two-part dosing.
Easier, cheaper (in the long run), more stable.

Been running my MTC ProCal since it first came out (15 years, 20 maybe) and it's yet to flood on me. Something I cannot say for others bits of kit in my system
