Calistyle's 120G Peninsula Build

I don't have the MP10's going and not sure that I will.

I do have to start moving over corals, I've lost a few nice pieces of coral (oregon tort, joe the coral, a few chalices), luckily the joe the coral is large enough that I should be able to get 2 nice frags from it still.
 
Coral and Fish Migration

Everything is getting dipped before coming over, I'd love any tips.

Right now, I plan on dipping all frags in Revive, but zoa's I'm also doing a small peroxide dip (50/50) and light brushing. I've tested the peroxide dip on some zoa frags and all went very well.

As for fish, I'd like to do something to ensure I don't bring anything over to new tank. Does anyone have any recommendations? I don't have a QT, but will once I clean out current tank. I need fish moved before I can get in and cut up the rock to remove some of the coral.

Can't comment on fish but I do a Bayer dip for all incoming corals. I use 10mL / 4oz SW (can be from old tank) and have dipped acans, sps, shrooms and zoas without any issues. 10 minutes in the dip, 10 minutes in clean SW with lots of rinsing, swishing, etc. You can use a lower concentration of Bayer if you're worried but that was the concentration I decided on for AEFW and have used the same for non-acros too. Light brushing sounds like a good bet as well for zoas and any other corals that have a tendency to trap detritus/critters.
 
for the "10 minutes in clean SW" I assume thats freshly made SW. So you don't acclimate the corals from tank water w/ dip to new SW?
 
Can be tank water, just not the water the frags came from since that could have free floating parasites/bugs in it. I've done it with fresh mix SW during a water change as well but usually tank water.
 
Maybe I'll acclimated to the new tank's water, then treat using new tanks water, then rinse using new tanks water! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
 
Wow someone more paranoid than me haha I'm pleasantly surprised but I don't blame you one bit with your fresh new build. Are you one to drip acclimate new corals as well? I never acclimate my corals, just dip, rinse, add. I feel like the sooner you get them into proper flow, temp and lighting the better...I only drip acclimate fish and inverts.

I only drip acclimate fish and inverts as well...but I have had a nightmare with things in my nano, namely BRYOPSIS and absolutely do not want it in the new tank...at least not for a while.

Ah bryopsis I had that in my nano too :uzi: acclimating corals won't help you keep it out or get rid of it though.
 
Everything will be cut away from any bryopsis. The dip is more to rinse and help with the cuts, etc.

Once complete my old tank will be a bunch of chunks of rock with tons of bases of corals attached. New tank will just be what I can safely cut away.
 
Added some corals over the past few weeks. Mainly pieces that were struggling in old setup.

First additions were ones I'd rather not have added for some time, but had no choice due to health in current tank.... That said, Red dragon and Vivid Rainbow Acro are alive, but pretty pale.

Palmers millie was almost gone, but I salvaged a small frag of it and it's been doing great.

A week later, I added 2 Joe the Coral frags (All I could salvage from old tank), and ORA Valida (loss in color) and those appear to be doing well, but it's only been 2 weeks.

Valida and Joe are doing the best and already improving.
