Calistyle's 120G Peninsula Build

Oh yeah.... That is full splash down sound..... extending down should help unless air is getting introduced in the overflow....

The trick with the extension is to still be able to get the sock out without too much screwing around....

Good luck... The tank looks great...

Yes, exactly what Randy said. That should quiet down your sump area somewhat. Great job on the plumbing, looks very clean.

Oh wow that is loud, my herbie style with both emergency/main underwater about 1" or so is dead silent...definitely extend it underwater and that should solve your issue if you haven't already.

Any worry about all your PH/Returns being on one side causing detritus to settle on the middle/far ends? I have a peninsula setup too and currently have one MP10 on the overflow end and one on the far end but would love to move them both to the overflow end to make things cleaner.

Right now I have the return which is 1" reduced to 3/4, split to Y loc-line. Between that and 1 WP25 dialed down it's moving sand (reef grade) at the bottom far side.

I still plan on adding the other wp25 (mixing, curing rest of rock) and 2 mp10's (in current tank)...but yes, if flow became an issue I'd have no problem putting an mp10 on the side of the tank.

I have been following your thread. Looking really good. Are those the Pac Sun T5 bulbs you are getting? I may try these instead of ATI bulbs next year.

What's the fish stocking list?

purple tang, one other tang, 2 wrasses, school of chromis, 2 clowns, 2 cardinals. Something along those lines, I not 100% set on anything except my 2 clowns, mystery wrasse.

Looks great dude

Thanks bro! Still have to work out my rockscape.

Did you ever get the t5 Bulbs?
T5s are in! I have them come on for 4 hours a day, midday and really love em so far.

thanks for following echo. love your setup. One of the main reasons I felt secure in PacSun. I did get the pacsun bulbs, not a T5 expert by any means, maybe Cory (mxreefer) can help me measure these lights par, settings, etc.

straight up baller!

I haven't even seen pictures of those fish, let alone plan on buying one! hah

Sump coming along: Biopellets are online, skimmers online, refugium getting there, and other two reactors are plumbed. I was going to pvc plumb the reactors, but want easy access to them and be able to move as needed around the tank.

Rockscape is coming along nicely. I only really like the right side (w/cave). The middle/left side has nice lower caves, but the overall look isn't very pleasing. I had a hard time using my prime pieces of marco since it's cut on both sides and doesn't look very natural. That said, I think I'll put lower to make a nice cave, and then stack on top of it to look better.

Looks really clean! Love how u kept all the powerheads out of sight to highlight the beauty of peninsula design!

The color on the t5's looks really nice. Can't wait to see how it looks with livestock. When do you think you are going to start moving in?

Love the peninsula style! I can imagine a large school of smaller fish looking awesome with your rockwork and 3-side viewing. Wish I could get away with a peninsula style tank in my family room.

Sump is finally done and everything is setup and online. I've had a few test frags in there for almost two weeks and everything is fine. By test frags, I mean frags from other tank that weren't holding up.
