Captain Crunch Memorial Reef - 375gal Combo Reef

That is looking really good. Are you located right on one of the canals? If so, will you be using natural salt water? That is the only way I can keep mine going. I have never seen bracing like that before.

Hi Mike,

Yes, I am right on a canal.
I had originally thought that using Canal water or water from the Gulf kinda like playing russian roulette...

I am way too anal retentive to think i could get away with it. I have gone to such great lengths to make sure this tank is as sterile and controlled as possible. That said, sometimes I am my own worst enemy.....

Im a little ****ed this morning as I just found out that I can not paint the floor in the fish room for atleast 30 days!
Soo... gonna look at what fun I can have today..

I think i will set the tank inplace and continue the rest of the build and test with fresh water, then move everything out paint the re install!

The bracing is a brand new concept, never used before on saltwater.
I think it is bad *** as it gets in the way of almost nothing!
Stainless Steel Rods..
that and the built in walk boards around the tank will make working inside a dream
I am designing the canopy to house the lights and completely hinge up

375 going well!

375 going well!

The stainless steel rods are cool for sure. Are you worried about them corroding? Salt water will eventually make a mess of them. IMO I think you should give them a clear coat of something like a Tremclad spray paint?
Great looking fish room well done!

Thanks,
Im not worried about the stainless steel rods.
the water level is about 1.5 " below them
I work on boats and alot of stainless and salt, so i will keep and a eye on them.

the system should be up and running by the end of the week!

Is the fish room ready to go? I know you had a wait to paint issue. Shoot me a text sometime when it would be good to come by and see this in person. Would like to see all the behind the scenes of your set up.
Later,
Mike
