yes but they cannot touch.

running some carbon is also a good idea in case one of them get ****ed off

There are a few of us who have both species in the same tank. I have a 30 gallon tank with one small mag and three gigs and they don't seem to bother one another.

They are closely related so I wouldn't expect issues. I would expect more issues with putting LTA and BTA with carpets.

Closely related or not I am not sure but I keep them together with no problem. They even touch at times with no problem
