Centerpiece Fish?

Yeah, I saw a longhorn cowfish at the LFS and REALLY wanted to get it, but they told me that there was a chance that when/if it died it would release toxins in to the tank...killing everything.

That slight chance was enough for me to pass...

Awesome boxfish. The are very neat looking. The boxfishes were one of the things that drew me into the hobby. But since learning the potential for problems with them (eating corals, toxicity), I have stayed away. Yours is cool though.

How bout a Clown Tang? They get huge but you should have enough room.

Go with an Emporor! Beautiful Angel with lots of personality....

Have you had problems w/ it nipping at your corals? I would LOVE to get an emperor, but don't want to sacrifice the reef aspect of my tank...

He loves Zoa's! They are like candy for Angels. Most SPS, mushrooms, ricordea are completely safe with my Angel. They are also hit and miss when it comes to nipping at clams....

I say a freshwater beta, suspended in a sealed glass ball in the center of your tank, the other fish will say to themselves "***?" and we humans can all laugh at their expense.

TEE HEE.

I would say how about a blue ringed octopus, for a FOWLR, and then have a "how long can you keep your hands in the tank before wetting or soiling yourself" contest! hehe

Honestly though, I love the EMP, dove with them in Cozumel, amazing, such personality and in the wild they looked over 12inches long, but then again I think the same of my other friend in my pants too, I tend to exaggerate a bit.

glad we live in a such a world where we can even have the ability to ask "hmmm what beautiful fish can I keep."

take care guys,
David

Emperor Angels are Pacific fish. The common Carribean angels are rock beauty, French, grey, pygmy, blue, queen and Townsend's(sp.?).

the best looking EMP angels come from christmas islands. they have a fantastic bright orange tail and perfect coloring. Granted they come very big.. still a beautiful fish.

what have you decided already!!! :)

i would definately have to say a black tang. to see an all black fish swimming around the tank is just amazing.

from what I understand clown tangs are EXTREMELY difficult to keep...but they are definitely beautiful!

Achiles tang...maybe its not the most interesting show fish...but if i had the room, i would definatly get one! :D

yes, they are one of the few that are other than blue throat and sargassum. They are by far the prettiest of the reef safe triggers.

I agree get a nice big Emp. I love mine if feed the proper foods they can be kept in a reef tank without eating corals.
