cFloor's 190g

Have I mentioned my love for your tank and fish yet?? :inlove: The tank is looking stunning mate and really has come a long way since you started it, although your previous effort wasn't too bad ;)

Conor, your tank is so good. It's as near to perfect as it gets.
I've said it before..... Colour, form, balance...
Superb..
In about 6 months, this tank will be totm worthy..
The only reason it isn't right now is because you had the for though and good sense to leave plenty of space between your corals...
Even though they are mostly huge and well grown out, the tank doesn't quite have that 'fully grown in' look yet..
I applaud your skills, man!
Can you do a wide shot with the door frames and wall sconces in it, like you did for your old tank?
That shot is really good...
Thanks for the amazing compliment! That means a lot. I have a bunch of frags that I somehow want to cram in there so I hope I don't mess with the overall look too much. I do feel that this tank is still very young. My goal is to not see the back wall or any rock work. If I can do that with colorful corals, I will be very happy. Thanks again for the kind words. I will definitely do a pulled back shot, either today or tomorrow. This tank sits in the same spot my last one did.
I also have a 190 DSA that I had just started putting some fish into. I could only hope it looks 1/10 of how good yours looks! Such big and beautiful colonies and amazing fish!
The DSA 190 is a great tank! It sat for months on my kitchen floor before filling it with water and I really got to appreciate it's dimensions. Best of luck with yours and I'm sure you can have as good or better than mine. I'd love to see yours
Wow wow beautiful tank !
Thanks buddy! How are all the frags doing? The chalices and bounce shroom I got from you are doing good in my QT. Can't wait to put them into my system.
Super great job!
Thanks!

Thanks so much! It's funny how in our hobby everything grows so slow it's hard to notice any difference day by day. I have to look at older pics to see any change. I do miss my previous cube. It was so much easier to work on and access all areas of the tank.

Awesome looking tank

Did you use a fisheye lens for some of those pictures

Thanks! I used my GoPro. I kinda like the look but I'd like to figure out a way to make it look more normal. When I use the same camera in the ocean it doesn't really do that. Not sure why.

I love the tort placement and size, tank is looking awesome! I also like the GoPro FTS shots.
Thank you. I was inspired by DogBoyDave's TOTM where he had that huge blue stag centered in his tank. Mine pales in comparison but that was the idea.
superb, such awesome progress!!! TOTM must be knocking on your door
Thanks Ryan! The goal and vision I have for this tank is to not see the back wall or any rock work so I know I have a long long way to go. I appreciate the compliment though.

Here's how my QT is looking at the moment. I've got a couple frags I'm very excited about. In the back right you can see a UC Pink Bali Shortcake. In the front right is the UC Bali Shortcake. The other SPS frags are some unknowns but I think they have some potential. I also have a WWC bounce shroom, a SC Pink Boobies Chalice (my first chalice) and a small unknown chalice that looks to have great color.

As with all my corals in the tank, these will get dipped 4-6 times over about a month. Very rarely do I lose a frag in QT but they certainly get stressed out but always seem to recover in my Frag tank.

I also started cramming new frags into my DT. I found new spots for them by perching them up on small pieces of tonga branch. I don't think this will upset the overall look too much but I have a bunch of stuff in my frag tank that I really want to grow out in the display.

The green chalice is "original Oregon Mummy eye"

I love those big colonies with so many awesome fish swimming around them. In a year your reef has developed really spectacularly! I also like your attitude about packing it with more coral:p Im interested to see how the chalices do as well. I've considered dabbling in them myself.

Thanks so much Matt! Means a lot coming from such a skilled reefer as yourself. I wish I could afford a 500 gallon reef because there's so many more corals I'd like to buy. Today, I added small browned out frags of what I believe to be RR oblivion, RR Pink Floyd, RR Wolverine, and RR vinh. I'm really excited to see what they do.

Unfortunately, the chalices and bounce shroom will stay in either my frag tank or my sump. I think my angels would have their way with them in the DT. I am excited to watch them grow. I don't know much about them and trying something different will be fun

As others have said, just feed your fish and keep up with your husbandry (as if you have a choice...:p yeah right), and all will be well. I do have a QT process that I do, but it's not for ich.

I really can't believe you've accomplished all of this in a year, absolutely gorgeous colonies. Keep it up and thank you for continuing to share you tank with us.

WOW!!!
How did I miss your tank's birthday, it is the same as mine, happy belated :) Just wow, your tank has some of the largest most colorful colonies I have seen in quite awhile, your tank is absolutely worthy of the TOTM honor!!!

Thanks! Yea, this has been a fun year with the tank (until recently that is and I'll explain) Most of these corals have been with me for a few years now and have survived all my many mistakes.
WOW!!!

Happy belated birthday to you too! Thanks for the amazing compliment!
Some new pics would be nice Connor.
I'm going to take some pics soon Ryan, I've made some changes that will take a while before they look good. I added a bunch of frags.
Very Nice!!!!! beatiful
Thanks so much!
:)
+1

Conor, what's the orange/pink Acro up on the right, I front of the big purple stag?
I believe the coral you are talking about is the Jason Fox Firecracker. it's bright pink with white growth tips and bits of yellow on the coralites. It has lots of potential. I'm excited about this one.

So, some sad news about my fish. I mentioned that when I added my hybrid tang to the tank (after QT) it introduced what I thought to be ich. In the following weeks, I was losing a fish or two a day and I'm not sure what it actually was but appeared to be much more aggressive than ich. I lost a lot of fish very quickly. I would have torn the tank down to capture the fish and treat them but I was working 7 days a week and didn't have the help I needed to do that. I'm really upset to say the least. I have some fish in QT at the moment but I'm very nervous to add them. My surviving fish now look healthy but every fish was affected a couple weeks ago.

I also added about 12 frags to the tank that I've had in my frag tank. I found space by adding pieces of tonga branch throughout the tank to prop them up. Right now, it doesn't look good, kinda cluttered. I think in time it will look really nice as they begin to grow.
