Chadfarmer, Trottman, or anyone that has T5's

I'm going with the Finnex 6 bulb T5's

To get the "crisp white" you think the best is

4-6,500k
2-Blue Actinic

This will not be yellow at all correct? I just DON'T want YELLOW

I want crisp white. I know trottie said the 4-6,500k but wanted to double check before I ordered because I think chad said it was too much and was bleaching.

I shouldn't do 3 and 3 or any 10,000k???

I have the 4 bulb finnex

I run this

1 -- General Electric 24W 6500K Daylight T5 HO Fluorescent (104046) -- $11.95
2 -- Giesemann 24W Actinic/Blue Plus T5 HO Fluorescent (104033) -- $39.90
1 -- Giesemann 24W 11000K Aquablue Plus T5 HO Fluorescent (104123) -- $18.95


The fixture probably has 2 switches - 1 for actinic - 1 for daytime

I'd run 2 6500K bulbs, 2 or 3 actinic(depending on how many the switch controls) and the rest Aquablue Plus

I'd also go 2-2-2 like trot said. I put 3 actinic because I'm not sure how many bulbs each switch controls on the fixture.

Why don't you wait for the new URI T-5 bulbs to come out. URI makes the best vho bulbs on the market. Now they will be making T-5's with the same colors.

I would like to try them, but I will wait for my tank to come around before spending more money on it. Plus, my bulbs are only a couple months old.

Justin, just to let you know. Don't get discuraged when you see the bulbs that come with the fixture, they're a bit yellow. Once you upgrade to good bulbs you'll be amazed!
