Chinese LED Lights

Just got my new IT2080. Will try to post some pics tomorrow. Im loving it so far but a bit confused on how to program the timers and sunrise sunset effects. Wish the manual made more sense to me. Was anyone else confused? Any help would be helpful :)

Hi

Question from Norway. Can someone tell me how the fans are on the 2080? I have had some Kina LED before and the noice from the fans was so loud that i couldnt use them in my livingrom.

Considering some 2060 for my 150cm tank.

bhazard451 looking back through the thread, I see you've answered a few of my questions and I dont think I said thanks, so thanks man!

I dont remember seeing many people using 60 degree optics, how deep would a tank need to be to warrant these? Wont these optics give a lot of spotlighting?

channel 1; 16 7500k cool whites, 8 3500k warm whites 4 480nm blues, 4 520nm greens, 4 630nm red, 4 660nm reds, and 4 410-420nm violets. Channel 2; 48 450nm royal blue, Channel 3; 3 480nm blue moonlights, for a total of 99 3 watt LEDs

Lots of blue

thanks for this. would you agree that this is close to 14K when both channels are at 100%?

Is this the hanging kit that comes with the IT lights or know where to find these?

willj, I got mine for $340 delivered in a group buy of 24 fixtures.

offroadr, EverGrow has minimum orders listed as well, but they don't really seem to apply. They were willing to sell me 2 when the site said minimum of 10.

wright4941, it is a bit confusing. If you are still having issues, send me a PM and I'll try to help you out. Once you understand the process it isn't hard at all, it just takes time to scroll thru 24 or 48 time segments and set the power % for each channel.

OK, my tank is clear, but no pic of that yet. The light is the right color for my tastes, but nothing is in the tank. I may have to design something else for the light so it is attached at the rim of the tank. Hanging the way I have it is blinding and I cannot afford my daughter to look up at it. I know I can tell her "no", but a 7 year old will still do it.I am thinking I need to get it to about 3-4" above the rim of the tank at most. Right now, it is about 8-12". If I hang it that low, it is better to mount to the tank.

Any ideas on mounting options?

How much did y'all pay for the IT2080 including shipping? The girl at ali's wants 519.

$449 Including shipping! From ReefBreeders which also includes an American warranty And your own custom layout if you want. Logan is very helpful! Mine should be here any day now! I can't wait!

I attached the default layout. hope that helps

I received my 2 IT2080's yesterday. All I can say is WOW!!

I replaced some cheapo MH fixtures and went from 12 plugs to 2 plugs. I am so happy.

Still need to figure out the programming but I am very impressed so far with the controllability of the unit. Pics tonight!!

120* optics available again from EverGrow

120* optics available again from EverGrow

FYI: EverGrow (per Sunny) has a new supply of 120* optics (not the LED's) and will start installing them again if requested on both the D120 and IT series. Please contact your sales representative directly for availability and options. Mine are being sent later this month.

Before I try and exchange my second soldering iron, can anyone confirm that they have successfully swapped out LEDs on the D120 with an 80 watt iron?

Your d120 doesn't have a heat sink does it? Mine doesn't and I haven't swapped out any LEDs yet, but i wouldnt think it should need more than a 40w iron to do the job.

I didnt order a heatsink with it and it doesnt look like theres one inside the light board. This is really strange to me as I've soldered plenty of circuit boards in the past..:crazy1:

Just PM'd you back. My mistake. My iron is only 60 watt.

Thanks man, the 80 watt should do the trick then

Did the other thread really get deleted? All that useful info? If so that is completely bogus.

There is lots of updated info here, so it isn't too bad.

One of the US resellers, Reefbreeders, will be sponsoring Reef Central soon, so there will be plenty of opportunities to discuss the lights without breaking any forum rules in the sponsor forum.

Bhazard, I was wondering if you had a template for the IT2080 per your recommendations. In my reading of this and the other thread I get the impression you lean a little more white than most. I don't want windex, but would like the option to dial in different looks (temps).

Reefbreeders layout is pretty close to what I would use now. They recently added Warm Whites into it.

My original test layout ended up with a very bright 10k light. Even with warm whites, I still like some 660nm reds and cyans.

I recently tried the 16k Razors, and wished they had some more red. Loved the design and the price. Maybe I would have liked the 10k better.

i want to buy led lights my tank is 265 gallon and 30in deep taotronics makes 212watt light what is better for coral more blue leds or more white leds
