Chinese LED Lights

Had my finger on the button and then... An email saying they no longer have the it120 and there will be a updated model coming in 2-4 weeks.

Bummed.

BHazard- I know this is pretty bad artwork but should be ok. Do you think this layout will work on my A4. I recently added the warm whites and now want to add some red and some green. Im just worried about the discoball effect and too much red and green. do you think this will blend well? Thanks
John

which website sent you that email?

Thats pretty interesting.

I am in the market for LED's that I want for chirstmas so I am waiting to see which is the best rout to take, and I think a lot of people may be in similar shoes. Hopefully this 'updated model' is everything I want it to be.

O. Quick question. Do you think it is necessary to include the 6500k bulbs in this light? It is going over a 40 breeder mixed reef. Also, if you would change anything what would you change? I'm looking for a 14k look. Thanks everyone...

Mike :)

18 blues should be 450 royal blue. You dont want the 460-470 as your main blue.

Other than that it looks just fine
Thanks im going to email them about this today and get set up for two fixtures should i order them with the added 90 degree optics because if i wanted they are easy to take off right?

You know, in my enthusiasm for these LED fixtures, I haven't really thought about how they compare to my MH setup.

Is the shimmer from the d120's comparable?

How is the disco effect?

It will have shimmer, but will be quite different from your MH setup - lots of little point-sources of light rather than one or two big ones. To see you'll likely have to find someplace that has LED lights (it doesn't really matter which ones if all you're looking at is the difference in shimmer).

Has anyone measured the par of an A4?

Someone did in the old thread.

I took PAR readings for the IT120 light, and my 180w Cree DIY light, which might be in the old thread as well. They can get 300 to the sandbed dead center 24" down. The Cree gets over 500, which I think is what 400w mh can do.

So I got a tidbit from ever grow regarding the new units coming

" Now the IT 2040 also called IT 120. And it is said that we will have a bigger size IT XXX, 180W-200W.
Sorry , Our engineer told me that the new LCD still not allow to ship, they need to be testing and aging.
Recently, our engineer focus on the new LCD, work overtime, make they can finish this week.
So now the new IT XXX is delay."

Looks like replacement LCDs will another week or so... I'd rather have them perfect vs fast. Probably why they
Won't sell any more units till the LCD is fixed.

I was just told the new controller board should be available Saturday, but she will let me know for sure once they are available.

Yes, the new units will not replace the IT120, but will include more LED's and more power, as previously stated. Should be interesting to see what the new units look like...

I've revised my layout. Can someone experienced tell me where this layout puts me? 10K, 14K, 20K? I got rid of the UV LEDs since everything I've read has said to stay above 400nm, and I spread out the colors a little.

Help?

Bhazard - What do you think of his layout on my A4? Im adding some reds and greens and I am going to take out the UV and replace them with neutrals. Was going to replace Two neutrals with reds and two neutrals with greens.

Im staying with the it2040 because it has 1 one cord i need three that would be 6cords if i go with another model

the reefbreeders unit is the it2040 as is the reefsupplycanada unit. They are both just re-sellers for evergrow, one in the US and one in Canada. So the likability would not be any different weather you order from overseas or let someone else deal with that part for you.

Looks like there will be a 36" 234w version, and a 48" 324w version of the lights too. I'm interested in what the cost of the 48" would be, and if it would cover my 72" 120 gallon.
