ChrisQ's Upgrade Build....Again

Sorry to hear that man. That's exactly why I'm setting up a QT/Hospital tank. I've been thru this already and it sucks. I'm gonna go the Chloroquine route. Seems to be less toxic and have less side effects. You also have a bigger margin for error if you screw up the dose of the med.

I'll look into that, I don't really have anywhere to set up two tanks for the tank transfer method. I think I took too long to react and treat the fish, they were in rough shape to start off and I think the copper treatment was too much for them. This has been a very humbling experience and I will now be QT'ing all my fish before introducing them to my DT.

All fish except one chromis made it so far, the chromis doesn't look good at all I'm debating if I should just take it out of its misery or keep it. I don't want to keep the fish suffering if it's not going to make it anyway.

Need some help with my AI Vega settings. I think at first I had my lights too intense, some sps bleached and some browned out, some zoas had the umbrella shape. Old settings were around:

W: 40%
V: 45%
R: 8%
G: 8%
B: 70%
DB: 70%
RB: 70%

With 5hrs 2bulbs T5

With a hunch of my lights being too intense I dropped them to the following:

W: 20%
V: 25%
R: 8%
G: 8%
B: 50%
DB: 50%
RB: 50%

With 5hrs 2bulb T5

I reduced my lighting because my parameters are in check and couldn't think of what else it could be. Even with the LEDs at the Lower settings the only difference I have noticed is that my green digi is becoming green again.

Alk: 8.5-9.0 Hanna
Cal: 440 Red Sea
Mg: 1400 Red Sea
P04: .03 Hanna
Nitrate: 0 API

I have something new brewing!

After not being 100% happy with my LED setup I have decided to try a T5 fixture. I'm not ditching the LEDs just yet, I'm going to use this as a comparison of the two. I got a great deal on an ATI 6 bulb and I'm running the following bulb combination: blue +, blue +, coral +, purple +, blue + and coral +. I'm running the blues from 10a-10p and the whites from 1:45p-7:15p hoping for the best with this setup.

It has been a while since I last updated this thread, all the corals seem to be doing really well with the switch to T5. I went to the frag swap yesterday and picked up a new clam, mini sps colony and something to help me take pictures top-down, hence the thread update.

Up first is the new maxima clam I picked up, now I have to sell some of my others!

The mini colony that I also picked up from the show, didnt come with a name.

Pink Digi mini colony that started off as a small frag

Frogskin I pick up from a fellow member a while back that is finally growing colored up in my tank

A picture that I really love how it came out, which also happens to be the favorite thing in my tank. My red foot, green tip ritteri anemone.

Finally three random pictures of different things in the tank

There are a few SPS in my tank that look really pale and I cant figure out why, my assumption is that the nutrients are too low, nitrates are always zero and for the past 2 months my phosphates were zero so I cut the amount of GFO in half and also feed reef chili/oyster feast but im not seeing too much of a difference in a few corals. The town that really aren't doing well are my SSC and Forest Fire digi. I just ordered Pohls xtra to see if that helps with improvement some. Hope you all enjoyed the few pictures on this update.

Real nice. Bro.... that clam tho.... SOME FAYA:bigeyes::thumbsup:

Thanks!! I fell in love with it the second I saw it. I picked up during the frag swap.

That frogskin has really grown! Nice update. I like that tenius you got at the swap!

I would say that the frogskin is probably the fastest grower in the tank (sps wise) that setosa I got from you seems to be doing well too.

Small update:
I went to Orlando this past weekend and had to stop by Living Reef Orlando and WWC. Was able to pick up a frag of something I was trying to find like a mad man, as well as a few others. Biggest thing is that I decided to get another tank for LPS since they don't seem to be too happy in my current set up. Hopefully all goes well with this one. I also noticed that the ritteri decided it want to take a walk all of a sudden so now I'm on high alert.

What did you get?:D

I forget the names of everything but I'll post pictures soonish. The piece I was looking for was a $500 efflo that WWC had so I picked up 1 of 2 frags available. I also got a really nice red Millie from LRO. There was a lot more I wanted to get but due to the purchase of the tank I hald to take it easy on the coral.
