hey
nothing like a last minute change to stir things up i bit,but i spent about an hour tonight chatting with ricky and after i got offline he emailed me stating that he saw my points and he has agreed to continue the to run for the positions he was nominated forso i an officially renominating ricky for:

Vice-President: Ricky
Vice-President of Public Affairs: Ricky
Secretary: Ricky
At-Large Directors: Ricky

Ricky is gonna have to wait to be nominated on the floor at election time. He withdrew his previous nomination. We have passed the 10th day before elections.

Rick don't take this the wrong way. The bylaws are the bylaws.

I don't know about Ron being added to the at large position but since he since is already nominated for VP I'll add him to the additional position.

Here is the final list on the 10th day before cut off. Notes have been placed for the two who dropped out.

President: Rich**removed himself 4/28**, Brad
Vice-President: Kelly**removed herself 4/28**, Ron (sixpackrt)
Vice-President of Public Affairs: Brad, Kelly**removed herself 4/28**
Secretary:
Treasurer: Rich**removed himself 4/28**, Scott B.
At-Large Directors: Scott B., Mo, Brad, Carl, Sanjay, Ron(sixpackrt)

Thanks Carl, wow, you are really on top of things.

I think we have 7 candidates running for offices (assuming Ricky is nominated on the floor)? That would work out, and with 4 at large directors we could cover the unfilled officer positions until we figure out the next election.

Sounds good to me, guess I will wait until the swap to see if I am nominated. I can do that, if it is in the cards it is in the cards. If not, I am ok with that, I am sure someone else will step up to get a position.

Thanks again,

Rick

I am the Chairman for the Nomination Committee so I can not make a decison on this one Carl. That would be a conflict of interest. We will have to ask the club president for a final word. Fizz this would be a good time to chime in if you want.

thanks,

Rick

Can some one clarify exactly what the question is? Was the question whether the post on the 27th was 10 days before the swap? I think the 26th was 10 days before. In fact, if we want to get to counting hours, if the swap starts at 11 AM, then 11 AM on the 26th is 10 24 hour periods ahead.

I think somone being nominated at the swap is fine, all we need is a nomination, and a second.

I'm confuse. Does this mean that whoever wants to run now or the day of the meeting is too late. Then why elections since we already have one person for each position and one or two positions need to be changed. :)

Zooqi no it is not too late! It just means that the final list prior to elections is ready, established, and finalized. Names now can only be added and people be nominated at the floor prior to the elections. So don't worry, you can still nominate someone at the swap, but I think it will have to be seconded by another member. If I am wrong I about the actual floor nomination process I am sure Scott will let us know.

thanks,

Rick

I was only thinking it was important to make sure the list was accurate and nominations ended for whatever record keeping needs to be done.

Mo who ever wants to run now will have to be at the show and be nominated.

Carl

Ricky is correct, the only procedure to run at the swap is that someone has to be nominated (including self-nominations, that is not prohibited) and someone has to second it. I *think* what will happen (this is not totally finalized) is that we will have preprinted ballots for the people already nominated, and then for the people nominated that day, voters will write their names down as sort-of a "write-in" candidate.
