I agree, it will still look great in the end, and that is all that matters.


Thinking out loud, could set up a photo bucket folder just for this -- just one persons, so that they would all be in one place. Only if they promised not to move anything. That way they could all be the same size. Again, just thinking out loud, and don't want to step on any toes.

I think in theory that sounds great - but I think that's what the original thread did and over the 4 years it was up that just didn't work. People came on and offered to host the pictures - they did and then after a year or so they would expire and wouldn't get put back up. I think the only way for this to really work long term would be to have them hosted on RC.

Please others chime in - I think everyone is just wanting to see this work. Myself I'm open to anything - but based on what Scott said and looking at the old thread - that's why I thought the pics needed to be held here on RC.

But, you have a point, the pictures were re/moved and that is what caused the issue. The only worry I have about using the RC gallery is that the file sizes are smaller for non-premium members. I am really open to anything, just throwing ideas out.

I would be willing to host them, I don't plan on going anywhere. (( might even be willing to share the password so that a select few could also be in control. ))

Been there, done that, twice actually.... Not a chance ;>)

Even with the pictures all spread out in the RC gallery it could be a nightmare rebuilding the links with software change. At least it would be doable with brute force, unlike offsite hosting.

Over time, we should settle on a standard pixel size for such things, but we can actually recalibrate with link editing as time goes on.

For now, lets gather some representative candidates and shake out some of the folks that can actually take good pictures so I can remove my place holders of lesser quality

haha, ok, I put em in. i didn't realize I could put 125k photos in there!
I guess that is one benefit of supporting RC. I suggest more people sign up, it's only about $2 a month

Maybe RC can contact the good Drs. and ask them if they would allow RC to use any pics they have taken for their website, assuming they save them. They have very nice, professional pics, like my rubro's...

Scott - What do you think about having a picture of each of the different color variations? If you think we should - then can you add basser1's picasso pair to the perc spot? That might be nice...

criccio - great idea! I wonder who I should try to contact there - but I'll look into it. I think it would be ideal if we had RC member photo's of their own clowns, but maybe until we get pictures of those clowns we could 'borrow' photo's. Hmm - what does everyone else think?

Flyguy - that is a really neat picture - might not be the best for identification - but a really cool one still!

Google has alot of pictures that they say you can copyright most of them are good pictures they just need cropping but they are at the top of a search if you look into downloading these into gallerys and using them
