Comas Frag Tank

Hope you are all getting ready for the tank tour.
Talked to couple folks who have been straightening and cleaning to get ready.....
If you are not in it, attend it....
It's great to see others tanks at their best, see how others do things different than you... learn a few things, and probably feel pretty good about your own system when it's over...

Thanks

Thanks

Hope you enjoyed the tank tour,
Great to have folks in to see the COMAS tank.

Also, thank you to Brandon(Triple B) for bringing lots of frags,
And to Chris(cjilge) for donating to the program.

See you all at the August mtg
Here's hoping the AC works well.

Much thanks to Ryan (RCPauff) for dropping by today and leaving some donations. Very generous as you can see below. Knew some of you would be interested. I'll have a few ready for the meeting if the stabilize well.

Keep in mind they just came out of of a dark box and had a blue light shined in their faces:

Ryan, Thanks for the Acan donation!!! I had the opportunity to see the acans in person and Ryan donated some nice Acans and Lynn has them looking good!!! I hope whoever gets a frag can keep them growing and donate back to the frag program. This is the first time I have seen Acans offered. Thanks again for the donation Ryan!

Fragging meeting

Fragging meeting

Thanks to everyone who participated in so many ways....

Almost 30 individual pieces went out from the frg tank tonight;
Probably that many frags of Pagoda Cup went out;
Several people brought back corals----
The backbone of keeping the program going.

I'm grateful to hold the frag tank for this time.
I love all the people I meet and get to talk to.

In the last 90 days I've traded emails and pm's with 2 other clubs using our program to start planning their own Coral Donor program.

We truly have a unique opportunity being part of this program.

Elections will be coming up soon after CRASE.
If you aren't involved in the club as a servant,
consider running for office or being one of the appointed positions.

Pagoda Cup

Pagoda Cup

As promised, here is a pic of the Pagoda Cup Coral.

It opened up this morning and continued to show extension throught out the day.

I don't know how your frag is doing, the only one that came back to the tank is just starting to show some polyp. Of course, it just had surgery last night.

Mine has a little extension today. Cant wait to watch it grow! PS my devils hand leather has finally started to recover from its surgery. Wasnt really sure it was going to make it yesterday. And the little frags have polyp extension. I might try and glue them to the plug tomorrow though because the rubberband is cutting into the flesh.

I kept having this problem when we fragged up those toadstools last year.the problem is that rubberband is always trying to make itself tighter. I found an excellent solution to be zip ties, tightened down just enough to firmly hold it in place, but not too loose or it will float/blow off. then cut off the ziptie in a couple weeks when it's attached.

Hope this helps.

Lynn, Just wanted to say thanks for running a great frag program and taking such great care of the corals. I have benefited greatly over the last year or so I have been involved. For those of you who take great pictures, you know it can be time consuming, and Lynn puts in alot of time and effort taking pictures of the corals, fragging, bagging, tagging, and keeping up with everything. I think probably everyone of us have coral from the Frag Tank. Lynn you are doing a great job!!! and Just wanted to say Thanks for all the time and effort !!!

As fall approaches,
I could really use donations to restock the tank.

I can use all types,
softies, lps and sps

I like to grow them out a little have them in the tank awhile before giving them out, so contact me and I'll arrange pick up or drop of.

Thanks to everyone....

new home

new home

Today we moved the frag tank.
The last time I wrote that was 22 November 2009 when we moved it from Glenn's house to mine.
The room is oddly quiet without the trickle from the tank outflow and intake.
I've had a great time working with the club and housing the tank.
I liked keeping the corals and learning new things,
but mostly I loved all the people I got to meet.
Thanks to all who supported me and the program.....

Now give all that support to Lauren as she starts this adventure.

Lynn, I would like to personally thank you for all that you have done for this club as frag master, you have taught myself and so many others so many things vital to keeping our corals alive and healthy. I wish you the best in what ever you do going forward and if you ever get back in the hobby I will have plenty of frags to get you started!!

Greg could not have said it any better. +1! Lynn you have always taken the time to answer all of our questions. Thanks so much.
