yeah i have heard that too luckily my tank is mainly sps except palys. but at least fish are like a box of chocolate you never know what your gonna get
I've never had a CBB bother any corals or clams.
It's very likely you'll never actually witness a Butterflyfish take out Aiptasia- it happens in the blink of an eye.
Good luck, if it doesn't do the job you could alternate vinegar injections and kalk paste dosing to balance out the ph issuess you may get with either.
Figures... . I just got word that after making it to just over two years in captivity the Copperband Butterflyfish in the Zoo tank has died.
Given the difficulty in successfully keeping them long term, I continue to believe these fish are wholly inappropriate for the vast majority of reef tanks out there.
Seems like that doesn't it. I hate it when asked how is your tank doing. Seems like every time I brag on a particular specimen or condition something goes wrong with ti. A humbling hobby for sure.
I grabbed one from ARC on Tues. He's about 3" long, looks really good, and has a healthy looking beak. I saw him picking at an aiptasia withing an hour of going into the tank, but haven't seen him do more than take a nibble.
I haven't seen him take any food yet, and I think I'll try some live foods over the weekend.
