Let's get it going:

Drilled for Beananimal silent overflow. For reference, holes are 1.5 their diameter apart. Overflow box is from Modular Marine on eBay. Dig the rounded edges. Also has a back which you drill & hold in place with bulkheads. No silicone beads to deal with. That was a big selling point, though they will make you one without a back if you want to silicone it in.

Underneath (check out the sexy white mold/corrosion resistant liner joeswoodworks put in his stands and canopies) I'm going with a 30 gallon 36x17x13 sump, under construction.

The skimmer is the Skimz SK181:

And my return pump is the Waveline DC 6000 rated for 1585 GPH @ 0' head. I'll probably get around 900-1000 GPH.

Lighting is 2 Radion Pros (ouch babe)

Internal circulation is 2 MP40s on the back wall for the front to back gyre aka the toot-toot-tootsie roll! Y'all.

Off to Lowes and HD for PVC fittings.

Bean does a coast to coast, I believe you're correct James. But it works just the same with an internal or even external box, per the man himself.

This is a run o the mill Perfecto. You can definitely see the lower quality, but that is only in the cut edges. Could be a bit better of a polish. But I maintain, all that jazz, starphire etc is noticeable unless you have a spectacular reef. People look through the glass, not at it IME.

Next stop....Easy-Low-Energy Town!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that I can reach the bottom of this tank without so much as standing on my tippy toes. And that's with a 35" tall stand! I've been in the opposite direction and I ain't goin' back!

Nico, rolling on Rustoleum high gloss black today.

Dimensions are 48x24x24 (not including trim) if you'd like more exacts, I can measure for you. Let me know.

10,000 PVC fittings at Lowes and HD, you think either one would have the 1 x 1 1/2" slip slip adaptor to build my Beananimal. Ridiculous. Looks like this project is at a stalemate for the day. Not driving around town in this snow with a 2 year old looking for $2.97 worth of plumbing.

It's easy enough to get, they were just out. The mythical piece is the street el described in his exploded view of his plumbing configuration. 1" x 1.25" I think. Might as well be a jar of unicorn tears.
