Cully's 120 build

I'll be honest, I haven't fired it up yet. Still not a lot going on in the tank for bioload or consumption. My reactor is WAY over sized. I keep waiting for Gary M to find a smaller GEO so we can trade before I fire it up.

We are currently in a transitional phase. Since I started with "clean" rock and bacteria in a bottle. I fed heavily to try to increase phosphates and nutrients. Overshooting that, combined with acclimating to LEDs infuriated the red/brown hair algae gods.

It has reached it's peak and is receding along with some manual removal and limited feeding.

Tanks not having a good hair day, but it's on it's way.

Finally ready to start adding frags again. Lost all but 1 of a pricey order of high end SPS from Copps. Other corals are rebounding and growing nicely again. It's really looking nice. Can't seem to capture the essence of the aqua scape and corals on my iPhone. My excitement for reef keeping has been rekindled. Many thanks to those that picked me up and dusted me off.

Rowaphos ;)

I think I had it on it's heels by the time I reached out to you. I was just so tired of the struggle. Based on your recommendation, I went with the Seachem version. Filter bag, filter floss, and tossed it in the sump. Gave it about a week and did a big manual removal. Mathis time it seemed differen. It was peeling free from the rocks. Did a 20% water change. More Phosguard, and boom bam. Got it beat after literally 6 months of staying the course. Increased lighting spectra. Cleaner feeding. Etc.

Congrats!
So did you use a white colored PO4 remover?
Just for the record :)
(ROWA is iron based/ red color and extremely expensive.)
Now time to move onto better things!
