Cully's 120 build

what lighting are you using.. I have the radions g2 been using the color graph at 65% so far really like it going to switch out the pucks soon for the regular g3 pucks for the uv and indigo

Looking awesome! I also run g2 radions but I got mine up to 80% now after a year of ramping up 5% at a time starting at 60%. Run mine whiter in the am for a couple hrs for the health and growth of the corals algae, then it's bluer the rest of the day. Ramps up to a peak then slowly ramps down the rest of the day. Took me a while to tune it in just right but I'm now getting the best color I've ever had with good growth.

And we all know how blue cell pics look lol

I got the idea from g while talking to him about how he adjusts and colors his wild acros. He's has a whole process that seems to work great for him.

I intentionally go slow to slow growth. Coloration seems to eventually catch up. I am enjoying the hobby again now that I own the tank and the tank doesn't own me. Financially or time-wise. I used to do whatever I could to get rapid growth, but then paranoia and constant maintenance tweaks, energy bills, etc would ensue. This system is totally chill. There when I want it to be, not a burden when I'm crunched for time.

Yeah Im at the point where I'm done trying to get "better" results when my tank if running well. If it ain't broke don't fix it type of attitude. My levels are all in balance and my flow and lighting seem to be doing what they are supposed to, so I ain't touching anything! I alway have been guilty of tinkering when things are going well, then the roller coaster starts lol. I'm done playing. What lives does well, and what dies is a shame. O well. Got everything automated so all I do now is water changes and media changes. Nice and easy, check alk and cal. every other week before and after water change.

no no its from this super cool dude I once knew named Steve:thumbsup:

LOL, Well, Im glad to know you got a piece of my tank to cully. That's great man.

~ Im the same guy just had to prioritize a bit .same cell number.Noticed your post about maybe freshwater ponds. Im working on mine this summer.Added a duck house so far .......so who knows ,when you get ready to frag a turtle or something hit me up.

I tried to create a front to back gyre. You don't get the coordinated movement like you can when they face each other. I just have them on reef crest (I think-the random one). Then my return pump cuts across them. Seems to give pretty good chaotic flow (according to the tentacles of my torches). And if you watch the back wall behind the rocks, detritus just ascends up the back walk. Doesn't seem to settle back there. Really only one dead spot over on right where frag rack is, but I can reach it easily when I clean.

I just can't stand the look of the Vortechs on the side glass. The other part of that is, we have so many little ones over here all the time. I'm sure they would get pulled off or knocked around. Although I can immediately think of one kid that I'd LOVE to see it happen to....I just don't wanna deal with a certain mom who's had a glass or two of wine and her kid takes a 2 pound Vortech dry side right to his grill.
