Nice pics as always! Do you like the colorization you are getting in your corals with the radions? I ordered 3 of the Gen 4s. I should get them tomorrow!!!

Found this guy hanging out yesterday, baby starfish.
He's about 2" tall in this pic. :)

HA! I found a similar guy on a similar sponge from TBS. Unfortunately, though, my photography skills aren't similar to yours...

Dennis,

Love this thread. I'm following to help me plan my next build! Now you've had it a couple of weeks how is the ozone generator working out for you? Are you going to keep that going?

Thanks :)
It's working well.
Reactor is still on setting 1 and having no problem keeping redox in the 300's.
The controller is turning it on and off throughout the day.
Water is nice and clear, too.

I'll be ordering a package from TBS in two weeks for my 10 gallon nano and after seeing the ridiculous amount of life that showed up on d2mini's rock, I'm not sure how I'm going to wait that long. Excited for the 2.1.

You should be excited and will not be disappointed!

Dennis , still lurking and occasionally commenting - have learned so much reading through all your threads . Question - since you have done this several times now: I am using some true unions valves before/and after my Reefflo pump- do I use thread sealant on the actual threads that connect/hold the pieces of the true union together or not. I am not talking about connecting the PVC to the true union ends, but the threads within the True union itself. I have tested the true unions that I have and they don't seem to leak - but I figured they might at some time or because the leak may be soo small it will actually create a siphon and pull air into the system - like a venturi. Opinion?

The true union valves should have a black o-ring on each end where the two flat surfaces come together. No sealant needed on the threads. :)

Very good- they are just really sticky and hard to open and I am afraid that when the time comes that I need to get them apart to do maintenance on the pump - I wont be able to get the threads to move.

I use a little silicone grease on the threads, this isn't to seal but to make it easier to unscrew the pieces.

A little "hack" i use that works good on the larger ones like 1.5" is an oil filter wrench.

But Jack's preventative idea is probably better. ;)

Jack is pretty slick.
Still annoyed that y'all snatched him away from us.
He's good people, take care of him.
