*d2mini's new 200g Reeftastic Build*

Yes they do take up a lot of room. If plenty of room is available they are great but if not, they are bulky. I just like the appeal of ease of in/out of them. But I will admit, I've never used one before. Was going to on my current build, but it's in my living room and I don't think they are visually appealing either. I ended up just using an old 75 under my stand.

Looking forward to seeing your sump buddy.

Ya it was a nice way to get a lot of water volume on the cheap. Great for basements or other large spaces.
And before, I had access from three sides.
Now I just don't have the room.
It also takes a lot of creativity to figure out how to deal with skimmers, probes, etc.

Dennis!
I'm just catching my breath from your last breath lol. You've given us a ton of entertainment ..better than Thurs night TV :D

Question, in regards to your reactor - do you still prefer your current one over the BRS? I have the BRS deluxe and I haven't used it yet.

Yes, I still prefer the Next Reef MR1 reactors.
And with the new build I'll be using the LifeReef filter canisters that come as part of my new sump.
They work similarly to those new Blue Life Resinator filters, but without the proprietary filter cartridges.
Although, it looks like I may need to continue using the MR1's temporarily until Jeff makes a new batch of canisters.

Happy 100th page!

How are your corals doing in that temp container?
So far so good. There has been growth, too.
The only coral I lost was my Aussie Gold Torch and that happened the first week.

How's the new setup coming? When are you getting your new sump? Looking forward to seeing some more updates!

Slow but sure!
My sump won't be here until around Christmas.
Meanwhile, I'm currently getting some shelving in place, got the 40 breeder frag tank in place, I added a few coats of Polycrylic to the tops of the stands, installed the rubber baseboard, started putting together the BeanAnimal drain plumbing, and even painted the outside of the new walls to match the rest of the garage.

Here's a couple ultra wide angle pics that make the room seem way bigger than it is. lol :D
There is NOT enough room for another 40 breeder next to that one. ;)
But there is more than enough room for the 18x18x16 cube from Glass Cages that is going to be my Mangrove tank.
Picked up an 80w Aqua UV during the Thanksgiving sales too, which arrived this week.

Man is that sanitary looking! Hospital like sanitary! I love it! Great attention to detail! Can't wait to see the completed system!

Thanks, Steve! :)

And here is a little teaser pic Jeff sent me this morning of my new sump. :bounce3:
The skimmer and filter canisters are just for the pic.
I already own the skimmer and I'll probably be starting off with just 3 canisters. Carbon, GFO and Biopellet reactor.
Lots more pics to come once it arrives, probably in a couple weeks or so.
