Thanks!Your holding shots are an inspiration for all of us. I know how much goes into a truly thriving coral reef tank. You have obviously mastered a working system. Good luck with the new setup.
Yeah, Ben has made several things for me, including the overflow for this new tank. BAO rocks.Hi Dennis - I'm using your cube tank as a model for the tank I'm setting up. Your tank(s) is an inspiration to everyone.
I am excited to see how your lifereef sump turns out. Everyone says that Jeff does great work. I looked into a sump by him but ultimately couldn't justify the cost (I have already bought a lot of the equipment that comes with his stuff) so went with a BAO custom sump. Jeff's customer service is second to none...I have spoken with him a number of times throughout the years and will eventually get a sump by him.
Keep up the good work and good luck on this build. I'm subscribing to this thread.
Edit to say Ben's customer service (BAO) has been excellent as well.
Ugh. I haven't gotten the shipping bill yet, but I know it ain't gonna be pretty! :uhoh2:His sump prices aren't bad considering they all include a skimmer to begin with and impeccable craftsmanship. the shipping is the killer though.
Was around $250-275 for me. I could only imagine what Dennis had to pay lol

Hi Dennis
Could you please tell me who BAO is. I might need something they make!
is it just me , or are you getting some insane growth and color in the holding tank before/after? awesome work , cant wait to see the new dig all set up!
That moment when someones holding tank has WAYYYY more coral than you've ever owned, ever...Haha awesome!
Thanks, Jack.
LOL, for about a year and a half.
Couldn't take driving that soulless, overpriced tin can for longer than that. Replaced it with the Audi posted later in the thread.
My wife still has her 2012 with now 50k miles and she fears it will fall apart before it hits 75k, with all the rattles and wind/road noise.
Man I despise toyota. Never again.
The only good thing about it was the mpg's and the hatchback. I'm a sucker for hatches/wagons. I'm hoping Audi will bring back the A4 wagon in the next gen... or I'll eventually have to suck it up and buy the higher priced Allroad.
Holy jumpin crickets! There must have been something wrong with your Toyota lol. I've never had that kind of problem with my corolla haha
A couple things lost some color in the beginning but yes, much of it did color up and continue to grow.
And remember, when I got everything into holding I was coming out of that mini crash and things were still recovering.
Also, some coral, like the Red Planet for example, were very close to my MH so it had gone pretty pale. Now it's much much farther away and you can see it got all the deep greens back in the base and a deeper red color.
Goes to show that not everything likes tons of light.
Or maybe it likes it but we like the color produced under less light.
Meanwhile... I got in a couple shipments of PVC fittings and Ultra Flex PVC today.

haha, thanks.Dennis you should be like the pope and bless our tanks
Seriously amazing stuff!
Please never get burnt out from this hobby. I thoroughly enjoy your tank builds.
I was very close to relocating to lufkin, TX area but decided to turn the job offer down. We could have been neighbors
Hard PVC? Male or Female adaptors? It's sad how a bunch of bulkheads and PVC excite me
LOL true dat. At ~23k/year, I'll be there soon.My truck has the rattles, but it has earned the right, it is sitting at 300,374 now.![]()
