*d2mini's new 200g Reeftastic Build*

beautiful tank and very CLEAN plumbing and fish room. You say you have MH and T5 for lighting. How many and what color? Sorry to ask but over 100 pages is a lot to comb through :-)

I have a 220 (72x24x30). I have 3 MH and was going to a T5 supplement. What I don't know is how many T and what color bulb.

I hope my tank ends up look half this good. awesome job
Thank you. :)

Yes Dennis, you are certainly extremely good at your trade and hence why you are so successful. Congrats and a great tank and a successful career.
Thanks, shaggss. :)
Mostly its just a hobby but it kinda cross over with my designer day job.
With two kids and the long commute now, I don't have time for much freelance photography anymore!

Is this your first plunge with biopellets? I am starting with some ecobak pellets
It is, but I won't be plunging just yet. :)

Dennis..... your photos are reefer porn at its finest!
Thanks! :)

I have three 250w radiums and four T5.
Currently running two KZ Superblue (i don't like the green tint in the Blue+) and two Giesemann Pure Actinics. But I just ordered their Super Actinics to try those out.

Dennis - What LifeReef Calcium Reactor model do you have?

Also, I think you've mentioned it before how easy it was to setup and the qualify of their units, but anything you find irritating or any regrets on going with LifeReef? I'm in the market for buying a Ca/Rx and want to be sure this is the last/only one I buy.

Thanks,
Andy

It's ok.
It's built well. Same as his skimmers.
I had a really hard time getting it dialed in, running a really low pH, and I ended up having to pull out the coarse ARM and replace it with Two Little Fishes REBORN media. Couldn't get the ARM to dissolve. Had a separate thread in the equipment forum that when on for months. Now it's working well.

One thing I really don't care for is the placement of the pH probe. It's there so it doesn't awkwardly stick out the top and possibly break, but if I ever need to recalibrate it, I have to empty the whole thing.

And the quick disconnect fittings he uses are cool, but the one on the input feed kept clogging. I had to remove it and replace it with a John Guest fitting. No problems with the output fitting.

looking forward to seeing how that light does with it, looks great.
Me too!
If you look at the previous page, i posted a pic from when i put it in there 5 days ago. It either grew, or it just loosened up a bit from the tumble. I'm not sure yet.

You know your in the hobby for one of the right reasons when the Chaeto dance relaxes you lol!

I can't believe it but I've actually watched the whole video.
Good, cause I spent a lot of time on that video! :p

BTW, notice there is no powerhead in there.
The only flow is coming in from the spray bar on the top right.
Dialing in the amount of flow and the direction of pointing the spray bar allowed me to get the gentle tumble going.
Will have to see how this changes as the cheato ball grows in size.

looks great dennis!!!! Im getting ready to set up a 40b as a fuge and since my gyre pump keeps getting jammed with snail I am going to use the gyre in there to hopefully create the same kind of rotation.

Thanks! Can't believe your snails were killing your Gyre like that. Crazy.

Dennis: Awesome pics. What camera + lens combo are you using? Do you cut the flow before taking pics? Also are you using any type of flash?

Wow very nice setup you have there.

Question is where is that parastaltic pump getting fed from? It its from the sump? That hose goes above the height of pump and down into the sump? Did you have to prime it?
